Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible flaw detection over the entire length even of long-length bent pipes by installing pressure receiving bodies to a flaw detecting probe and a signal transmitting cable at suitable intervals. CONSTITUTION:Pressure receiving bodies 5 which receive the dynamic pressure owing to the flow 6a of fluid 6 are installed at suitable intervals to a flaw detecting probe 2 and the signal transmitting cable 3 connected thereto. Then, if the flaw detecting probe 2 is inserted together with the signal transmitting cable 3 into the pipe 1 under inspection through its inlet 11 and fluid 6 such as air or water is force fed into the pipe 1 under inspection to cause flow 6a, then the flaw detecting probe 2 and signal transmitting cable 3 are driven forward by the dynamic pressure that the pressure receiving bodies 5 receive from the flow 6a, thus even if the pipe 1 under inspection is a long-length bent pipe, the flaw detecting probe 2 and signal transmitting cable 3 are fed to the desired position and the flaw detection signal is received in a flaw detector 4, whereby the flaw detection may be accomplished.
