Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover and reuse effective ingredients from waste water as well as perform the purification of waste water by a procedure in which gas absorption waste water is requlated in pH and subjected to coaqulation treatment using an iron coagulant, the coagulation is sedimented and removed, and then electrodes are inserted into the waste water to decompose COD and BOD components by nascent 0 gas.
CONSTITUTION: A certain amount of the gas absorption waste water 1 by the wet alkali method using NaOH, etc., is sent to the coaqulating reactor 4 in succession and its pH is requlated to 8 to 11 by an alkali and at the same time a certain amount of a coaqulant, e.g., iron sulfate, etc., is supplied to the waste water to cause a coagulating reaction with stirring. In the process, most suspended solids and harmful heavy metal compounds are coaqulated, then transferred gradually to the sedimentation tank 11, and lastly removed in the form of the flocs F. On the other hand, the supernatant of the tank 11 is flowed into the electrolytic bath 15 to perform electrolysis by the electrodes 16 provided for decomposing COD and BOD components by nascent O gas generated at the electrodes 16 portion. Part of the waste water treated electrolytically is sent back to the tanks 4 and 11 before the tank 15 by a circulating pump, and also the other part of waste water is flowed into the neutralization tank 18 to requlate its pH to neutral by the addition of an acid aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, etc..
