Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a polymer composition for lamination, having excellent low- temperature heat-sealability, and free of stickiness and blocking tendency, by compounding a propylene-1-butene copolymer with a low density polyethylene.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 50W97 wt.% of a propylene-1- butene random copolymer having a melt index of 0.1W40, propylene content of 55W85 mol%, heat of crystal fusion of 10W80 joule/g determined by the thermal analysis using a differential scanning colorimeter, content soluble to boiling methyl acetate of ≤2.0 wt.%, and content insoluble to boiling n-heptane of ≤5.0 wt.%, and (B) 50W3 wt.% of a low density polyethylene having a melt index of 1W30 and a density of ≤0.94 g/cm3. When the propylene content of the (A) component is less than 55 wt.%, the melting point of the composition decreases to an undesirably low value, and when it exceeds 85 wt.%, the composition becomes hard and loses its flexibility.
