Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a cosmetic composition for the prevention of the roughening of the hand, containing hydrocarbons, polysiloxane, etc., at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:A composition composed of (A) a 14-50C branched hydrocarbon, such as squalane, alpha-olefin oligomer, etc., (B) a polysiloxane of the formula (R, R' are 1-4C alkyl, phenyl; n is 3-1000), (C) a water-soluble polymer having a molecular weight of about 500-5,000,000, (D) 2-6C compound having 2-6 OH groups in the molecule, e.g. ethylene glycol, sorbitol, etc., and (E) water. The contents of (A)+(B), (C), (C)+(D), and (E) in the whole composition are, about 0.6-12 wt%, about 0.01-4.0 wt%, about 2-29 wt%, and about 50-90 wt%, respectively; and the weight ratios of (A):(B) and (C):(D) are about 1:4- 100:1, and about 2:1-1:2500, respectively.
