Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare an emulsion-type hair lotion, giving moistness of the hair and improving the luster and brushing characteristics of the hair, by mixing a liquid polymer of a specific alpha-olefin, a dimethyl polysiloxane, a multimolecular chain emulsifier, and water. CONSTITUTION:The objective hair lotion is prepared by mixing (A) 0.5-10wt% of a liquid polymer of a 6-18C alpha-olefin, having an average molecular weight of 282-758, (B) 0.1-5wt% of a dimethyl polysiloxand of formula (n is 5-50), (C) 0.1-10wt% of a multimolecular chain emulsifier, and (D) >=50wt% of water. The liquid polymer is pref. prepared by the cationic polymerization process using a modified Lewis acid catalyst. The multimolecular chain emulsifier is a nioninic surface active agent such as polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil ester which stably emulsifies the liquid polymer and the compound of formula.
