Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent high temperature sodium from leaking outside from the process side by constituting a seal device therefor such that a detection spacing is formed between a freeze seal or a bellows seal and a gland packing, and a pressurizing device and a pressure switch are arranged in the detection spacing.
CONSTITUTION: Pressure in a gas chamber 5 is kept constant by means of an argon gas supply piping 7, a check valve 9, and an automatic pressure-reducing valve 10. The piping 7 is branched to be connected to a pressure switch 8 for detection and annunciation or indication of a drop of pressure inside the gas chamber 5. In case of a fusion or break at a freeze seal section 4, a gland packing 6 can prevent argon gas from flowing into the process side from the gas chamber 5 and also prevent high temperature sodium from leaking from the process side. Also, a drop of pressure of argon gas can be detected to provide an announcing indication thereof.
