Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the abnormality of a gas purity meter by a method wherein the difference between the output from the gas purity meter and the pressure of a fan for circulating gas is compared.
CONSTITUTION: A differential pressure transmitter 11 is connected to an in-machine circulating high-pressure piping 9 and an in-machine circulating low-pressure piping 10 in order to detect the differential pressure of a fan 6 for circulating hydrogen gas in a hydrogen cooling generator 1. Output from a hydrogen gas purity meter 7 for monitoring the purity of hydrogen gas in the generator 1 and output from the differential pressure transmitter 11 are compared 12, the hydrogen gas purity meter 7 and the differential pressure transmitter 11 are determined to be normal when the absolute value of both difference is within a fixed value, and either of the hydrogen gas purity meter 7 or the differential pressure transmitter 11 is determined to be faulty in the cases other than the above.
