Abstract

PURPOSE: A contact product of a halogenated organic Mg compound with an organic Ti compound is contacted with a liquid, halogenated Ti. The resulting product is treated with a halogenated hydrocarbon, thereby increasing the yield through put of olefin polymer product per transition metal and per carrier.
CONSTITUTION: One mole of a compound of general formula Mg(OR1)2-1Xn (wherein R1 is C1-10 alkyl-allyl-cycloalkyl, X is halogene, O<n≤2), such as MgCl2 and 0.01 to 100 moles, or preferably, 0.05 to 20 moles of a compound of general formula Ti(OR2)4 (wherein R2 is alkyl allyl cycloalkyl which is the same as or different from R1) are contacted each other under agitation at a temperature of 0 to 100°C. The resulting product is then contacted with a liquid halogenated Ti such as TiCl4, and the contacted product is treated with chlorinated n-butyl or 1,2- dichlorethane at -50 to 200°C for about 0.1 to 5 hours.
