Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit constitution as well as to reduce the cost by using the FET featuring a high oscillation efficiency to the microwave oscillation source and also enhancing the conversion gain by making use of the nonlinearity of the FET for the Doppler radar device. CONSTITUTION:The greater part of the oscillation frequency of oscillator 13 is sent to antenna 4 from drain output terminal D to be irradiated to the mobile object. The microwave which is reflected from the mobile object and then returned to terminal D features the frequency of f0+ or -DELTAf. This microwave returns not only to terminal D but to gate input terminal G. The reflected microwave voltage sent back to terminal D is mixed with the microwave voltage occurring at terminal D via FET9, and thus the IF signal of Doppler shift frequency DELTAf can be obtained at terminal D owing to the nonlinearity of FET9. The IF signal is detected from load resistance 6 connected to terminal D, and thus the velocity of the mobile object can be detected from frequency DELTAf in the direction of the irradiation microwave.
