Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to make a decision on the progressive direction of an object by separating an oscillation output of a microwave into local oscillation power and a transmitting wave, by periodically modulating the transmitting or receiving wave into two phase, and by extracting a Doppler signal between the both with phases shifted. CONSTITUTION:A microwave from oscillator 1 is applied to 1st circulator 2 in four- port circulator 4, and a slight reflected signal from mismatching element 9 is supplied as a local oscillation signal to mixer 7. Other radio waves are phase-modulated by phase converter 5 through 2nd circulator 3 and then radiated through antenna 6. By a signal from synchronizing signal generator 11, phase converter 5 is varied between zero and (theta) deg. and gates 13 and 14 perform separation into two channels, which are passed through waveform-shaping circuits 17 and 18, so that the phase will be measured by phase comparator.
