Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the ternary logic element which features a high conversion efficiency, the excellent electric noise property and easy vertical connection by providing the roller-screen type electrode pair and the face electrode holding the piezoelectric thin film at the input and output sides each. CONSTITUTION:The roller-screen type electrode pair A and B are formed interdigitally on one surface of the thin-plate piezoelectric substance. And reference signal S is supplied between electrode A and face electrode O (dotted-lined areas) provided on the other surface of the piezoelectric substance, and either one of S, opposite phase of S and zero is supplied between B and O. Then the ternary output of zero, 2S and S is obtained between face electrode O' and roller-screen type electrode A' and B' of the output side in accordance with input S, opposite phase of S and zero each. To secure the vertical connection for this ternary element, the distance between the input and output roller-screen electrodes is set to the length of the integer times as much as the using wavelength in order to obtain a coincidence of the phase between the input and output signals. Thus, the ternary logic element is obtained with a high conversin efficiency, excellent noise property and easy vertical connection respectively.
