Abstract
PURPOSE: To greatly reduce the consumption of control power and reduce the size of a radiator, by using a Peltier effect temperature controller which functions simply through control of air flow from an electric fan.
CONSTITUTION: This temperature controller is composed of a thermocouple 1 which produces a cooling surface A and radiating surface B, radiator 3 fitted to the radiating surface B of the thermocouple 1, fan 10 for cooling the radiator 3, temperature sensor 4 for the radiator 3, and of control circuits 5W8, 11 for feeding control current to the fan 10 in accordance with the temperature of the radiator 3. As shown in the property diagram a, when the temperature of the radiator 3 is high at T0 + ΔT, the position of saw tooth wave from a generator 11 to the reference voltage is high compared with that in case the temperature is low and the point crossing the reference voltage comes earlier. Accordingly the current fed from thyristor 6 to the fan 10 becomes longer as in case of high temperature as shown in the figure c, which in turn increases the air flow and lowers the temperature of the radiator to keep the balance.
