Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the title film having high tensile strength and Young's modulus, and coated with a polymeric layer having specific functions, by forming a water-containing polyvinyl alcohol to a film, coating the film with an aqueous dispersion of a polymer, simultanesously and diaxially drawing the film, drying the oriented film while relaxing the stresses, and finally heat-treating the dried film.
CONSTITUTION: A molten, water-containing polyvinyl alcohol is formed to a film, and dried while preventing the production of strains, to obtain a non-oriented base film containing 3W20% of water. An aqueous dispersion of a polymer is applied to one or both sides of the base film, and conditioned to give a film having an average water content of 5W30% (increment of water content of 2W10%). The coated film is drawn at an areal draw ratio of 600W1300% simultanesouly and biaxially, and dried to a water content of ≤3% while relaxing the stresses. The dried film is heat-treated at 160°C to the decomposition temp. for a short time.
