Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce equipment and operational costs by introducing lime powder into hot exhaust gas contg. SOx and dust from a waste incinerator, etc. to convert HCl gas into CaCl2; collecting a mixt. of the lime powder thermally decomposed, dust, etc.; and kneading the mixt. with water to form gypsum.
CONSTITUTION: Fine grains 9 of CaCO3 or CaO are introduced into incinerator 1 or flue 3 and reacted with HCl gas in exhaust gas, forming CaCl2. Waste gas contg. CaCl2, CaO, dust contg. heavy metals such as Cr6+ and SO3, etc. is fed to dust collector 4, cleaned, and exhausted from chimney 8 as clean gas. Water 11 is added to collected mixt. 10 and kneaded with stirrer 12. Kneaded material 13 is then molded with molding machine 14 and dried to obtain lumpy solidified matter 15 with desired compressive strength and heavy metal fixing power.
