Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove NOx in exhaust gas contg. dust including transition metals such as V, Mn and Fe at a relatively low temp. by impregnating highly oxidized dust, with a reducing agent such as NH3, obtd. by heat oxidation of the dust collected from the exhaust gas, and then mixing the impregnated dust into the exhaust gas to be treated. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas 11 contg. NOx and dust including transition metals such as V, Mn, Fe and Ni from generation source 10 is passed through dust remover 20 to remove the dust and exhausted 21. Part 22 of the collected dust is introduced into oxidizing unit 30, where it is oxidized with air (O2) 31. Highly oxidized dust 32 is then supplied to reducing agent impregnating device 40 to impregnate the dust with reducing agent 41 such as NH3, hydrazine or NH4Cl in an amt. of 1-3 times as much as the amt. of NOx in exhaust gas by mol. Impregnated dust 42 is fed to flue 12 and mixed into the exhaust gas to decompose the NOx contained.
