Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the fluctuations in set upper and lower limit values even against changes in ambient temperature by accurately setting the upper and lower limit values of battery voltage with a Schmitt circuit and using Zener diodes of mutually different polarities of temperature coefficients.
CONSTITUTION: When the voltage applied to the base of the transistor Tr1 of a Schmitt circuit S is 0 and Tr1 is OFF, VE = RE.VC/(RV3 + RE) holds. When the base voltage of Tr1 becomes V1 > VE, the collector current of Tr1 begins to flow. Then, a positive feedback loop is created between the Tr1, Tr2 and Tr1 goes ON and Tr2 OFF. Next, when V1 lowers, Tr1 goes OFF and Tr2 ON and VE.VC (Rv1 + RE) holds. Hence, when Rv1 > Rv2 is estabilished, VE becomes the upper and lower limit values of battery. At this time, the temperature change of VC is made 0 by the temperature coefficients of Zener diodes Z1, Z2, whereby the fluctuations of the upper and lower limit values are prevented.
