PURPOSE: To attain extremely-efficient erasing through tablet inputting, by erasing only significant lattice dots within the region indicated by an erasing cursor when erasing assignment is made at a lattice address.
CONSTITUTION: When it is required to erase a pattern inputted, erasing only the lattice dots is not easy since the size of the lattice dots (approximate 0.5 × 0.5mm) is large and its number (640 × 512 = 327,680 per screen) is small. For the purpose, when address A at one terminal of segment AB is assigned to be erased from tablet 7, erasing cursor 13 is made to indicate the region for four lattice dots centering on address A and control part 5 retrieves information within the region indicated by the same cursor 13 from dot memory circuit 2 in sequence, thereby erasing only significant lattice dots (lattice dots constituting segment AB).
