Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a backflow of liquid, by distributing and evaporating the residual refrigerant in other non-defrosted systems and exhausting it to the suction side.
CONSTITUTION: A main liquid solenoid valve 5 is fitted between a condenser 3 and a manifold 6 for distrbuting discharge liquid from the condenser 3 to evaporators 29, 30, 31 and a reducing solenoid valve 7 and shut-off solenoid valve 8 connected with each other in series,are connected in parallel with the solenid valve 5. The solenoid valve 5 is closed when an evaporator is in defrosting while the shut-off solenoid valve 8 is open, and is opened again several minutes after the shut-off valve 8 is closed when defrosting is over. It is therefore advantageous in terms of cost, because the change-over between the defrost and pump down can be provided by simply controlling the main solenoid valve 5 and the shut-off solenoid valve 8 connected with it in parallel. The backflow of liquid is eliminated because the residual refrigerant is distributed to other non-defrosted systems and evaporated there.
