Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the corrosion resistance of a Cr-contg. corrosion resistant permalloy deteriorated by magnetic annealing, by heating the permalloy to a specific temp. in the air after the magnetic annealing. CONSTITUTION:Cr; 1-16% is added to a permalloy contg. Ni; 25-60% to refine a corrosion resistant permalloy. This permalloy is formed into a suitable shape and magentic annealed in an atmosphere of hydrogen to raise the permeability. At this time, the surface of the permalloy is activated, deteriorating the corrosion resistance. The permalloy with deteriorated corrosion resistance is heated to 150-450 deg.C for 5 min-10 hr to form a Cr oxide film on the surface. This film enhances the corrosion resistance of the permalloy.
