Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce program processes by providing common spare units for a plural numner of units and switching the entire unit by a junctor switch when there is a fault in the unit. CONSTITUTION:Among message channel units SPU, those from #1 to #n are normally used and SPU #o is a spare unit among n units of SPU. The connection of junctor switch unit JSU is carried out when SPU is all in normal condition and SPU is in trouble and switched to the spare side. It is in dual construction and divided into #0 and #1 units. Central processing unit CPU is also in the dual construction and determines whether SPU, JSU and test unit should communicate with 0 system or 1 system of UPU under the control of CPU. When there is a fault in the unit of SPU, the entire faulty SPU is switched to spare message channel SPU #0.
