Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the battery voltage in a short time and prevent unnecessary consumption of battery power, by comparing the divided voltage proportional to the battery voltage generated in response to a detection command voltage of narrow pulse width at low voltage with a specified voltage.
CONSTITUTION: When a detection command voltage of narrow pulse width is applied at low voltage, when required, to a terminal 11 of a battery voltage applying part 4, a transistor 10 is made to conduct, so that the voltage divided by resistances 8, 9 proportional to the voltage of a battery 1 is applied to a differential amplification transistor 12 in a voltage detecting part 5. To the other differential amplification transistor 16 is applied a reference voltage which is applied from a terminal 13 and divided by resistances 14, 15. When the voltage of the battery 1 is less than the reference voltage, the transistor 12 does not conduct. Therefore, a battery voltage normal signal is not generated from a terminal 23 through transistors 17, 21 which are made to conduct when the voltage of the battery 1 is higher than the reference voltage, so that the battery voltage may be judged in a short time.
