Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a refuse drying and combusting apparatus, small in its structure but capable of treating refuse efficiently, wherein a controlled amount of refuse is carried continuously into a combustion chamber having therein a furnace bed of rotary table with grate, to combust the same with forced supply of air, while discharging ash to the outside automatically from the end portion of said rotary table.

CONSTITUTION: Furnace bed of annular combustion chamber 1 is made of rotary table 7, which is projected upward at its center in the form of a cone and inclines upward at its annular portion 9 on the outside. Miscellaneous refuse 3 containing garbage and others is supplied from chute 4 onto rotary table 7. In the combustion chamber, air from high-pressure nozzles 24, 25 is supplied from grates 10, 10', whereas air from nozzle 28 is supplied forcibly from the above, to promote combustion of refuse. Refuse 3 after combustion is carried gradually to the peripheral portion of table 7 by the function of sweptback blades 11. Ash on the rotary table 7, on the other hand, is dropped into after-combustion chamber 6 from the peripheral portion of the table 7.
