Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a rainwater re-utilizing apparatus, in which, after impurities contained in rainwater is removed by a filtering means disposed at an intermediate portion in a vertical watr pipe, it is taken out from a lower portion of the water pipe for re-utilizing the same for domestic use, thereby re-utilizing rainwater and thus saving water resources.
CONSTITUTION: At the junction between upper and lower vertical water pipes 1a and 1b, a filtering means 2 having therein filtering medium 4 is placed in a cylindrical case 3 with a bottom 3a made of a water transmitting material such as metal. On the other hand, joint pipe 6 has an upper portion 6a with a dismeter smaller than that of main sleeve portion 6c and a lower portion 6b with a diametr larger than that of the main sleeve portion 6c. Here, length of the upper pipe portion 6a is made sufficiently larger than that of the lower pipe portion 6b, so that filtering means 2 can be fitted in place or detached therefrom with ease. With such an arrangement, rainwater collected by troughs or other flows into vertical water pipes 1, and after impurities in rainwater are removed by filtering means 2, it is discharged from a lower end of pipe 1. Rainwater thus purified is re-utilized for domestic purposes, for instance, as sprinkling water or cleaning water.
