Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide low-cost transfer through long-distance pipelines by feeding out gaseous portion reached to a relay station without waiting for the reach of liquid portion and the eafter feeding out the liquid portion together with the next- reaching gaseous portion.
CONSTITUTION: With a gaseous portion reached through a pipeline 1a, flow selector valves 11 and 14 open and valves 12, 13, 15, and 16 close so as to feed out the gaseous portion through a bypath line 10 to a pipeline 1b. The liquid portion reached to the relay station by way of a pig is stored in a liquid reservoir 9, and the valve 11 closes and the valves 12 and 13 open. With all the liquid stored in the reservoir 9, the pig is stored in a pig receiver 2 and valves 11, 12, and 13 are changed over to feed out the gaseous port on. The liquid in the reservoir 9 is subjected to a siphon effect of the gas feed pressure and passed through a feed pipe 17, booster pump 6, flow control valve 18, and check valve 19 before mixed with the gaseous portion and fed into the pipeline 1b.
