Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently absorb vibrational forces by elstically inserting a cushion ring between a working ring fixed to a spherical shell and a restriction ring placed on the basement. CONSTITUTION:With a spherical shell 2 displaced against struts 3 and a brace 6, a xorking ring 7 is deviated relative to a restriction ring 10 and displaced laterally. As a resuslt, with a cushion ring 12 compressed at one side thereof, the compression of a pliable tube 13 and an elastic member 14 causes a filling oil 15 to flow in the direction of the arrow so that the tube 13 at the other side of the ring 12 expands. This oil flow through the resistor (i.e. elastic member 14) provides a damping effect, thereby absorbing the vibrational forces due to an earthquatke and reducing the displacement of the tank.
