Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the ambient temperature and humidity accurately and miniaturize and simplify the device, by integrally combining a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor on the face and back of a humidity-sensitive ceramic substrate.
CONSTITUTION: On the face and back of a flat humidity-sensitive ceramic substrate 1 made from Cr2O3 compound, spinel compound, etc. are provided two pairs of electrodes 2, 2' and 3, 3' respectively formed by thick film conductive body of Ag- Pd, RuO2 or the like and thin film conductive body of Au, Pt or the like. A temperature-sensitive resistor 4 composed of layers of 2- to 4-component composite metal oxide of Mn, Co, Ni, or the like is formed between the electrodes 3, 3' provided on the back of the substrate 1. Therefore, a humidity sensor is constituted by the humidity-sensitive substate and electrodes 2, 2', and a temperature sensor is constituted by the temperature-sensitive resistor 4 and electrodes 3, 3'.
