Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the line setting of a satellite communication system optimum in a simple method to improve the availability of each line by controlling the transmission power of each station so that the line quality between stations may always agree with a given reference value. CONSTITUTION:In case that three communications between earth stations A and B, C and D, and E and F are amplified commonly by satellite relay 1, the line quality of A B is improved and the line quality of B A, C D, C D, E F, and E F is deteriorated slightly when the transmission power of station A is increased. Meanwhile, the transmission power of only station B is increased, the line qulity of B A is improved and the line quality of other lines is deteriorated slightly. Consequently, an optimum line setting is obtained when line qualities of A B and B are equal to each other, and a reference value for line quality is so given that they may be equal to each other. Then, the local transmission power is controlled on a basis of line qualities in both ways measured in station A or B, and line qualities in both ways measured in station A or B, and line qualities in both ways are made agree with the reference value.
