Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out suitably the interruption control and reciprocating movement control of no-pulse space in response to working condition and perform gap washing from one reciprocating operation to the next one by the interruption control to maintain stable working. CONSTITUTION:Unit pulse series having short working unit pulse width r on s and space r off s are supplied to the working gap between electrode and workpiece to repeat pulse discharge for electrospark machining. The working condition is then detected by judging the discharge of the working gap with said unit pulse and integrating judged output. While this working condition is within a predetermined range, said pulse series is controllably interrupted by no-pulse space T off. When the working condition exceeds degradingly said predetermined range, reciprocatin g movment which retreats electrode away from workpiece or vice versa to form said working gap is given in addition to said interruption control.
