Abstract
PURPOSE:To minimize surface cracking of a slab in continuous casting and surface defects after hot rolling by adding a specified amt. of Ti to high strength, high toughness steel contg. Nb or Nb-V and controlling the initial rolling reduction of hot rolling to 15% or below.
