Abstract
1,264,102. Emulisifier for oil in water emulsions. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 31 March, 1970 [29 March, 1969], No. 15100/70. Heading B1V. [Also in Division A5] An emulsifier comprises at least one ethoxylated fatty acid alkanolamide and at least one secondary alkane sulphonate. Oil in water emulsions may comprise paraffin oil, the emulsifier and, as aqueous phase, water/ glycerol, and may also include aliphatic hydrocarbons, silicone oils, fatty alcohols, polyfunctional alcohols, fatty acids, fatty acid esters, soaps, perfumes, alkyl phosphates, alkyl ether phosphates. The fatty acids may be saturated or unsaturated and the emulsifier may be derived from mixtures of the ethanolamides or isopropanolamides. The secondary alkane sulphonate may be an alkali metal or alkanolamine salt of C 12 to C 24 alkane sulphonic acid. Preferred portions by weight are: secondary alkane sulphonate to total amount of ethoxylated alkanolamides, 1:7 to 1:2.
