Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 ２次元空間以上の広がりを持つ例えば雲や霧
等の移動対象物の移動方向の予測を可能にする情報を得
ることができるレーダー装置を得る。 【解決手段】 移動目標による減衰が排除されるレーダ
ー信号をアンテナを介して出力する送信機と、アンテナ
を支持してレーダー信号の指向方向を変更する駆動装置
と、レーダー信号及びアンテナを介して受信した移動目
標による反射レーダー信号に基づいて移動目標の位置を
検出する受信機と、アンテナとの接続を送信機又は受信
機のいずれか一方に切り替える切換手段と、移動目標の
位置を出力表示する表示装置と、移動目標の位置に基づ
いて移動目標の位置を追尾する手段とを備えた。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、ミリ波帯のマイ
クロ波を使用して、例えば雲や霧等の気象観測を行うレ
ーダー装置の技術に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】従来のレーダー装置としては、水蒸気や
酸素による電波吸収が少なく、かつ雲や霧等の粒子に対
して反射係数の大きなミリ波帯電波を利用したものがあ
る。
【０００３】図８は、従来の気象レーダー装置の説明図
であり、図８中、１は、パルス状の高周波信号を生成し
て出力する送信機、２は、送信機１より送られた高周波
信号を高周波電波（いわゆるマイクロ波）として空間へ
放射するアンテナ、３は、物体から反射された高周波電
波をアンテナ２を介して受信する受信機、４は、送信機
３からアンテナ２への高周波信号の伝送とアンテナ２か
ら受信機３への高周波信号の伝送とを切り換える切換手
段としてのサーキュレータであって、サーキュレータ４
は、アンテナ２と送信機１、アンテナ２と受信機３の高
周波信号の流れを制御する非可逆素子である。また、５
は、受信機３から信号を距離方向に分け表示する表示装
置である。
【０００４】次に、このように構成された従来のレーダ
ー装置の動作について説明する。送信機１は、雲や霧等
からの反射が大きく、水蒸気や酸素による電波吸収の少
ないミリ波帯の高周波信号を大電力でパルス状に生成す
る。
【０００５】次に、アンテナ２は、送信機１で生成され
たパルス状の高周波信号を高周波電波として空間へ放射
する。空間へ放射された高周波電波は、雲や霧等の粒子
で反射しアンテナ２に戻る。受信機３は、アンテナ２で
受けた高周波電波を周波数変換し、受信強度をビデオ信
号として出力する。
【０００６】表示装置５は、高周波信号が電波として空
間へ放射された時間と雲や霧等の粒子によって反射され
た電波が受信された時間との差により雲や霧等と空中線
との距離が観測され、また受信強度によって雲や霧等の
粒子の濃度が観測されるというレーダーの原理に基づい
て、距離情報及び濃度情報を表示する。
【０００７】
【発明が解決しようとする課題】このように構成された
従来の気象レーダー装置では、観測は１方向（距離方
向）のみを時間経過に沿って行っているだけであり、レ
ーダー装置のプラットホームを自動車や航空機等に搭載
した移動型のものとしない限り、雲や霧等の空間的広が
りの観測はできなかった。
【０００８】気象観測である地点での雲や霧等の出現を
予測する場合は、周辺情報が重要であり、例えば２次元
空間で雲や霧等の移動を記録し、次の移動方向を予測す
る追尾処理を行うことにより、雲や霧等の出現の予測性
が向上するが、このような１次元の観測では係る予測が
困難である。また、雲や霧等の発生過程を観測する場合
に、１方位固定では気象現象の急変部を捕らえることは
極めて困難である。
【０００９】この発明は係る問題点を解決するためにな
されたもので、２次元空間以上の広がりを持つ例えば雲
や霧等の移動対象物の移動方向の予測を可能にする情報
を得ることのできるレーダー装置を得ることを目的とす
る。
【００１０】
【課題を解決するための手段】この発明に係るレーダー
装置は、移動目標による減衰が排除されるレーダー信号
をアンテナを介して出力する送信機と、アンテナを支持
してレーダー信号の指向方向を変更する駆動装置と、レ
ーダー信号及びアンテナを介して受信した移動目標によ
る反射レーダー信号に基づいて移動目標の位置を検出す
る受信機と、アンテナとの接続を送信機又は受信機のい
ずれか一方に切り替える切換手段と、移動目標の位置を
出力表示する表示装置と、移動目標の位置に基づいて移
動目標の位置を追尾する手段とを備えたものである。
【００１１】まだ、アンテナ及び駆動装置を設ける代わ
りに、アンテナを、ビーム制御装置からの制御信号に基
づいてレーダー信号を放射するフェーズドアレイアンテ
ナとしたものである。
【００１２】また、アンテナは、ビーム制御装置からの
制御信号に基づいてレーダー信号を放射するフェーズド
アレイアンテナとし、駆動装置は、空中線の方位方向を
変更する回転手段としたものである。
【００１３】また、送信機と受信機にそれぞれ共通な基
準信号を与える基準信号発生器を設け、受信機は、固定
目標からの反射レーダー信号を抑圧する処理部を備えた
ものである。
【００１４】また、テレビカメラを介して得られる情報
と移動目標の位置情報とに基づいて、移動目標の端部を
検出する検出装置を設けたものである。
【００１５】また、表示装置と接続し計測器材が計測し
たデータを表示装置が表示可能な形式に変換するデータ
変換装置を設けたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
実施の形態１．次に実施の形態１に係るレーダー装置の
動作について説明する。図１は実施の形態１に係るレー
ダー装置の構成図であって、図１中、前記従来例に対す
る新たな構成として、６は、アンテナ２を目的方向に指
向させるための駆動装置、７は、反射エコーの判定（い
わゆるエコー領域の判定）をすることで表示装置５より
得られたデータから雲や霧等の移動を追尾して記録する
追尾装置である。
【００１７】このように構成されたレーダー装置の動作
を図１及び図２に基づいて説明すると、アンテナ２を駆
動装置６により駆動装置６の回転軸周りに回転させなが
ら、前記従来例のようにアンテナ２から高周波信号を空
中に放射して雲や霧等を観測することにより、図２に示
すような雲や霧等の観測範囲を得ることができる。
【００１８】ここで図２では、上方を北（Ｎ）とし右を
東（Ｅ）として、レーダー装置（高周波電波の放射点）
を中心に２次元の観測空間を模式的に示しており、ま
た、図２中の点線で囲まれた領域は、アンテナ２が３６
０度回転する時間分前の雲や霧等の観測範囲を示してい
る。
【００１９】従って、上記実施の形態１によれば、時刻
の経過により雲や霧等の発生地域が移動しても、追尾装
置７が、表示装置５より得られたこのデータから雲や霧
等の移動を追跡して、図２中矢印で示すような移動の予
測を得ることで、注目地域での雲や霧等の発生予測を行
うことが可能である。
【００２０】このように、実施の形態１に係るレーダー
装置は、アンテナ２の下部に駆動装置６を設け、アンテ
ナ２の指向方向を変化させることにより、２次元空間以
上の雲や霧等が観測できる。そして、表示装置５は、得
られた観測データを方位、距離で示す２次元画面上に図
２に示すように表示すると共に、雲や霧等の発生は、追
尾装置６によりその移動軌跡を得て予測できる。
【００２１】雲や霧等の観測にはミリ波帯の高周波電波
が望ましいが、周波数が高すぎると雲や霧等による減衰
が大きくなり、雲や霧等の奥行きが捉えられない。レー
ダー装置のダイナミックレンジは高々４０ｄＢであり、
一方、ミリ波帯の高周波電波の減衰は、一般には３５Ｇ
Ｈｚ帯で約０．５ｄＢ／ｋｍ、４０ＧＨｚ帯で約８ｄＢ
／ｋｍである。このため、３５ＧＨｚ帯では、８０ｋ
ｍ、８４ＧＨｚ帯では、５ｋｍが奥行き情報を得る限界
と考えられる。
【００２２】現実には、さらに、測定精度を得るため、
信号帯雑音比を１０ｄＢ程度（厳密には、ノンコヒーレ
ント積分時間に依存する）、距離減衰で２０ｄＢが生じ
るため、さらに奥行き距離が小さくなる。
【００２３】従って、結果的として、３５ＧＨｚ帯で２
０ｋｍ、８４ＧＨｚ帯で１ｋｍが奥行き情報の限界と考
えられ、３５ＧＨｚ帯の周波数の高周波電波の利用が効
果的である。
【００２４】実施の形態２．実施の形態１では、駆動装
置６を設置することにより、アンテナ２の指向方向を所
望の方向へ向けたが、図３に示すように、ビーム制御装
置９からの制御信号に基づいて電子的にビーム指向方向
を変化させるいわゆるフェーズドアレイアンテナ８を用
いても実施の形態１と同等の効果を得ることができる。
【００２５】ここで、フェーズドアレイアンテナを用い
たのは、雲や霧等を追尾する場合に、駆動装置６による
空中線の回転を一定回転で行うとデータの更新時間が空
きすぎ、追尾装置７による追尾品質が低下するが、フェ
ーズドアレイアンテナを用いれば、方位方向の不連続な
回転が可能であり、目的対象に絞った観測が行えるの
で、追尾装置７による追尾品質が向上するからである。
例えば、空間に不連続で存在する複数の雲や霧等からの
反射エコーを時間連続で検出することができる。
【００２６】従って、上記実施の形態２によれば、時刻
の経過により雲や霧等の発生地域が移動しても、追尾装
置７が、表示装置５より得られたこのデータから雲や霧
等の移動を追尾して、図２中矢印で示すような移動の予
測を得ることで、注目地域での雲や霧等の発生予測を行
うことが可能である。
【００２７】このように、実施の形態２に係るレーダー
装置は、ビーム制御装置９からの制御信号に基づいてフ
ェーズドアレイアンテナ８のビーム指向方向を電子的に
変化させることにより、２次元空間以上の雲や霧等が観
測できる。そして、表示装置５は、得られた観測データ
を方位、距離で示す２次元画面上に図２に示すように表
示すると共に、雲や霧等の発生は、追尾装置６によりそ
の移動軌跡を得て予測できる。
【００２８】実施の形態３．また、図４に示すようにフ
ェーズドアレイアンテナ８で仰角方向のビーム指向を行
い、駆動装置６で方位方向のビーム指向を行うことによ
り、３次元空間の雲や霧等の観測を行うことができる。
【００２９】このように、フェーズドアレイアンテナ８
で仰角方向のビーム指向を行い、駆動装置６で方位方向
のビーム指向を行うことで、仰角方向毎に観測時間の積
分回数を変更することができる。例えば、高仰角では観
測距離はそれ程必要でないため積分回数を減らし、低仰
角では観測距離を稼ぐ必要があるため積分回数を増やす
ということができる。この点、一定回転速度の仰角操作
する方法では不可能である。
【００３０】従って、上記実施の形態３によれば、時刻
の経過により雲や霧等の発生地域が移動しても、追尾装
置７がこれを追跡して、図２中矢印で示すような移動の
予測を得ることで、注目地域での雲や霧等の発生予測を
行うことが可能である。
【００３１】このように、実施の形態３に係るレーダー
装置は、フェーズドアレイアンテナ８で仰角方向のビー
ム指向を行い、駆動装置６で方位方向のビーム指向を行
うことにより、３次元空間の雲や霧等が観測できる。そ
して、表示装置５は、得られた観測データを方位、距離
で示す２次元画面上に図２に示すように表示すると共
に、雲や霧等の発生は、追尾装置６によりその移動軌跡
を得て予測できる。
【００３２】尚、フェーズドアレイアンテナ８で方位方
向のビーム指向を行い、駆動装置６で仰角方向のビーム
指向を行ってもよい。
【００３３】実施の形態４．また、図５に示すように図
１中のレーダー装置に送信機１と受信機３に共通な基準
信号となる送信ＲＦ信号をそれぞれ与える基準信号発生
器１０をさらに付加して設けることで、受信機３はいわ
ゆるＭＴＩ（Ｍｏｖｉｎｇ ＴａｒｇｅｔＩｎｄｉｃａ
ｔｏｒ）処理による送信機１と受信機３との間の位相検
出を行って、固定目標からの反射波の影響の抑圧（いわ
ゆる地形エコーの処理）をすることが可能である。これ
により、移動目標である雲や霧等の観測の誤報を削減
し、追尾品質を向上させることができる。
【００３４】実施の形態５．また、図６に示すように、
図１中のレーダー装置にテレビカメラ装置１２及びデー
タ比較装置１１をさらに付加して設けることで、可視画
像による雲や霧等との地形の分離を参考データとして組
み込めば、不要反射部分を抑圧すると共に雲や霧等の検
出を行い、雲や霧等の観測範囲の精度向上を図り、追尾
品質を向上させることができる。
【００３５】例えば、テレビカメラ１２の画像情報を前
述した周辺情報とすれば、この画像情報と反射強度画面
との比較により、雲や霧等の端部の確認、視程の調整が
できる。また、地上風、湿度情報をも含めた周辺情報
は、雲や霧等の発生の現象予測に活用できる。
【００３６】実施の形態６．また、図７に示すように、
図１中のレーダー装置に例えば視程計のような気象観測
器材１４とデータ変換装置１３を設けることにより、雲
や霧等の観測データの情報を視界情報に変換することが
できる。
【００３７】尚、気象観測器材１４は観測されたデータ
をどのような情報に変更するかにより適当な器材を選択
するようにしてもよい。
【００３８】実施の形態７．また、図５中の基準信号発
生装置１０と図６中のテレビカメラ装置１２及びデータ
比較装置１１とを組み合わせることで、実施の形態４の
効果と実施の形態５の効果とを重畳することもできる。
【００３９】実施の形態８．また、図５中の基準信号発
生装置１０と図７中の気象観測器材１４及びデータ変換
装置１３とを組み合わせることで、実施の形態４の効果
と実施の形態６の効果とを重畳することもできる。
【００４０】また、図３中のフェーズドアレイアンテナ
８及びビーム制御装置９は、図１中の他のアンテナ２及
び駆動装置６に置き換えて使用してもよい。

【発明の効果】この発明によれば、移動目標による減衰
が排除されるレーダー信号をアンテナを介して出力する
送信機と、アンテナを支持してレーダー信号の指向方向
を変更する駆動装置と、レーダー信号及びアンテナを介
して受信した移動目標による反射レーダー信号に基づい
て移動目標の位置を検出する受信機と、アンテナとの接
続を送信機又は受信機のいずれか一方に切り替える切換
手段と、移動目標の位置を出力表示する表示装置と、移
動目標の位置に基づいて移動目標の位置を追尾する手段
とを備えたので、２次元空間以上の広がりを持つ例えば
雲や霧等の移動対象物の移動方向の予測を可能にする情
報を得ることができる。
【００４２】まだ、アンテナ及び駆動装置を設ける代わ
りに、アンテナを、ビーム制御装置からの制御信号に基
づいてレーダー信号を放射するフェーズドアレイアンテ
ナとしたので、２次元空間以上の広がりを持つ例えば雲
や霧等の移動対象物の移動方向の予測を可能にする情報
を得ることができる。
【００４３】また、アンテナは、ビーム制御装置からの
制御信号に基づいてレーダー信号を放射するフェーズド
アレイアンテナとし、駆動装置は、空中線の方位方向を
変更する回転手段としたので、２次元空間以上の広がり
を持つ例えば雲や霧等の移動対象物の移動方向の予測を
可能にする情報を得ることができる。
【００４４】また、送信機と受信機にそれぞれ共通な基
準信号を与える基準信号発生器を設け、受信機は、固定
目標からの反射レーダー信号を抑圧する処理部を備えた
ので、２次元空間以上の広がりを持つ例えば雲や霧等の
移動対象物の移動方向の予測を可能にする情報を得るこ
とができる。

りを持つ例えば雲や霧等の移動対象物の移動方向の予測
を可能にする情報を得ることができる。
【００４６】また、表示装置と接続し計測器材が計測し
たデータを表示装置が表示可能な形式に変換するデータ
変換装置を設けたので、２次元空間以上の広がりを持つ
例えば雲や霧等の移動対象物の移動方向の予測を可能に
する情報を得ることができる。

Claims (6)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 移動目標による減衰が排除されるレーダ
    ー信号をアンテナを介して出力する送信機と、前記アン
    テナを支持して前記レーダー信号の指向方向を変更する
    駆動装置と、前記レーダー信号及び前記アンテナを介し
    て受信した前記移動目標による反射レーダー信号に基づ
    いて前記移動目標の位置を検出する受信機と、前記アン
    テナとの接続を送信機又は受信機のいずれか一方に切り
    替える切換手段と、前記移動目標の位置を出力表示する
    表示装置と、前記移動目標の位置に基づいて前記移動目
    標の位置を追尾する手段とを備えたことを特徴とするレ
    ーダー装置。
  2. 【請求項２】 アンテナ及び駆動装置を設ける代わり
    に、前記アンテナを、ビーム制御装置からの制御信号に
    基づいてレーダー信号を放射するフェーズドアレイアン
    テナとしたことを特徴とする請求項１に記載のレーダー
    装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 アンテナは、ビーム制御装置からの制御
    信号に基づいてレーダー信号を放射するフェーズドアレ
    イアンテナとし、駆動装置は、空中線の方位方向を変更
    する回転手段としたことを特徴とする請求項１に記載の
    レーダー装置。
  4. 【請求項４】 送信機と受信機にそれぞれ共通な基準信
    号を与える基準信号発生器を設け、受信機は、固定目標
    からの反射レーダー信号を抑圧する処理部を備えたこと
    を特徴とする請求項１乃至３のいずれかに記載のレーダ
    ー装置。
  5. 【請求項５】 テレビカメラを介して得られる情報と移
    動目標の位置情報とに基づいて、移動目標の端部を検出
    する検出装置を設けたことを特徴とする請求項１乃至４
    のいずれかに記載のレーダー装置。
  6. 【請求項６】 表示装置と接続し計測器材が計測したデ
    ータを前記表示装置が表示可能な形式に変換するデータ
    変換装置を設けたことを特徴とする請求項１乃至５のい
    ずれかに記載のレーダー装置。
