Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.フッ素化溶媒及び炭化水素溶媒を含む懸濁媒体、 前記懸濁媒体に分散した複数の顔料粒子、 前記顔料粒子とのコントラストを与える、前記懸濁媒体に溶解した流体色素、 及び 前記顔料粒子が凝集するのを防ぐ、前記顔料粒子上に吸着された表面活性剤、 からなる誘電体懸濁物。 2.フッ素化溶媒が高密度フッ素化溶媒である、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁 物。 3.炭化水素溶媒がフッ素化溶媒よりも密度が低い、請求項1に記載の誘電体 懸濁物。 4.フッ素化溶媒が、ペルフルオロトルエン、ペルフルオロシクロヘキサン、 ペルフルオロジメチルシクロヘキサン、ペルフルオロ−メチルシクロヘキサン、 ペルフルオロキシレン、ペルフルオロベンゼン、ペルフルオロデカリン、ペルフ ルオロデカン、ペルフルオロヘキサン、ペルフルオロオクタン、ペルフルオロデ カン、トリフルオロトルエン、ペンタフルオロトルエン、及びガールデン流体か らなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 5.炭化水素溶媒が、フェニルキシリルエタンの混合物、トルエン、ベンゼン 、キシレン、シクロヘキサン、sec−ブチルベンゼン、フェニルオクタン、デ カン、オクタン、ヘキサデカン、及びデカリンからなる群からのものである、請 求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 6.懸濁物を電気泳動表示器に用いる、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 7.懸濁物を静電印刷機に用いる、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 8.懸濁媒体が、更に第二フッ素化溶媒を含む、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁 物。 9.第二フッ素化溶媒が、ペルフルオロトルエン、ペルフルオロシクロヘキサ ン、ペルフルオロジメチルシクロヘキサン、ペルフルオロ−メチルシクロヘキサ ン、ペルフルオロキシレン、ペルフルオロベンゼン、ペルフルオロデカリン、ペ ルフルオロデカン、ペルフルオロヘキサン、ペルフルオロオクタン、ペルフルオ ロデカン、トリフルオロトルエン、ペンタフルオロトルエン、及びガールデン流 体からなる群から選択される、請求項8に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 10.懸濁媒体が、更に第二炭化水素溶媒を含む、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁 物。 11.第二炭化水素溶媒が、フェニルキシリルエタンの混合物、トルエン、ベン ゼン、キシレン、シクロヘキサン、sec−ブチルベンゼン、フェニルオクタン 、デカン、オクタン、ヘキサデカン、及びデカリンからなる群から選択される、 請求項10に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 12.表面活性剤が、[R1]がフルオロカーボンであり、Nが3〜20の反復 単位の数であり、且つ[R2]がエトキシ炭化水素であり、Mが3〜20の反復 単位数である、式を有する、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 13.表面活性剤が、主に炭素及び水素であるブロックと、主に炭素とフッ素で あるブロックを含む重合体である、請求項1に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 14.フッ素化溶媒と炭化水素溶媒とを一緒にして懸濁媒体を形成し、 第一の色の顔料粒子を前記懸濁媒体に添加し、 前記懸濁媒体に表面活性剤を添加して前記複数の顔料粒子の凝集を防ぎ、 前記懸濁媒体中に第二の色の流体色素を溶解し、そして 前記懸濁媒体を混合して前記顔料粒子をその中に完全に分散させる、 諸工程からなる、誘電体懸濁物製造方法。 15.混合工程が、ボールミルにかけることを含む、請求項14に記載の方法。 16.混合工程が、超音波浴中で超音波にかけることを含む、請求項14に記載 の方法。 17.フッ素化溶媒が高密度フッ素化溶媒である、請求項14に記載の方法。 18.炭化水素溶媒がフッ素化溶媒よりも密度が低い、請求項14に記載の方法 。 19.フッ素化溶媒が、ペルフルオロトルエン、ペルフルオロシクロヘキサン、 ペルフルオロジメチルシクロヘキサン、ペルフルオロ−メチルシクロヘキサン、 ペルフルオロキシレン、ペルフルオロベンゼン、ペルフルオロデカリン、ペルフ ルオロデカン、ペルフルオロヘキサン、ペルフルオロオクタン、ペルフルオロデ カン、トリフルオロトルエン、ペンタフルオロトルエン、及びガールデン流体か らなる群から選択される、請求項14に記載の方法。 20.炭化水素溶媒が、フェニルキシリルエタンの混合物、トルエン、ベンゼン 、キシレン、シクロヘキサン、sec−ブチルベンゼン、フェニルオクタン、デ カン、オクタン、ヘキサデカン、及びデカリンからなる群からのものである、請 求項14に記載の方法。 21.懸濁物を電気泳動表示器に用いる、請求項14に記載の方法。 22.懸濁物を静電印刷機に用いる、請求項14に記載の方法。 23.電荷調節剤が、[R1]がフルオロカーボンであり、Nが3〜20の反復 単位の数であり、且つ[R2]がエトキシ炭化水素であり、Mが3〜20の反復 単位数である、式を有する、請求項14に記載の方法。 24.表面活性剤が、主に炭素及び水素であるブロックと、主に炭素とフッ素で あるブロックを含む重合体である、請求項14に記載の方法。 25.懸濁物を遠心分離にかけて望ましくない粒状物質を除去する工程を更に含 む、請求項14に記載の方法。 26.懸濁物の遠心分離が、約1〜2時間、5000rpmで行われる、請求項 25に記載の方法。 27.一緒にする工程が、第二フッ素化溶媒を前記フッ素化溶媒及び前記炭化水 素溶媒と一緒にすることを含む、請求項14に記載の方法。 28.第二フッ素化溶媒が、ペルフルオロトルエン、ペルフルオロシクロヘキサ ン、ペルフルオロジメチルシクロヘキサン、ペルフルオロ−メチルシクロヘキサ ン、ペルフルオロキシレン、ペルフルオロベンゼン、ペルフルオロデカリン、ペ ルフルオロデカン、トリフルオロトルエン、ペンタフルオロトルエン、及びガー ルデン流体からなる群から選択される、請求項27に記載の方法。 29.一緒にする工程が、第二炭化水素溶媒を、前記フッ素化溶媒及び前記炭化 水素溶媒と一緒にすることを含む、請求項14に記載の方法。 30.第二炭化水素溶媒が、フェニルキシリルエタンの混合物、トルエン、ベン ゼン、キシレン、シクロヘキサン、sec−ブチルベンゼン、デカン、オクタン 、及びデカリンからなる群からのものである、請求項29に記載の方法。 31.溶媒の混合物を含む懸濁媒体、前記懸濁媒体に分散した複数の顔料粒子、 前記顔料粒子とのコントラストを与える、前記懸濁媒体中に溶解した流体色素、 及び前記顔料粒子の凝集を防ぐ、前記顔料粒子上に吸着された表面活性剤を有す る種類の電気泳動表示器のための誘電体懸濁組成物において、前記溶媒の混合物 が、高密度フッ素化溶媒及び低密度炭化水素溶媒から形成されている改良誘電体 懸濁組成物。 32.フッ素化溶媒が、ペルフルオロトルエン、ペルフルオロシクロヘキサン、 ペルフルオロジメチルシクロヘキサン、ペルフルオロ−メチルシクロヘキサン、 ペルフルオロキシレン、ペルフルオロベンゼン、ペルフルオロデカリン、ペルフ ルオロデカン、ペルフルオロヘキサン、ペルフルオロオクタン、ペルフルオロデ カン、トリフルオロトルエン、ペンタフルオロトルエン、及びガールデン流体か らなる群から選択され、炭化水素溶媒が、フェニルキシリルエタンの混合物、ト ルエン、ベンゼン、キシレン、シクロヘキサン、sec−ブチルベンゼン、フェ ニルオクタン、デカン、オクタン、ヘキサデカン、及びデカリンからなる群から のものである、請求項31に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 33.懸濁媒体が、更に第二フッ素化溶媒を含む、請求項31に記載の誘電体懸 濁物。 34.第二フッ素化溶媒が、ペルフルオロトルエン、ペルフルオロシクロヘキサ ン、ペルフルオロジメチルシクロヘキサン、ペルフルオロ−メチルシクロヘキサ ン、ペルフルオロキシレン、ペルフルオロベンゼン、ペルフルオロデカリン、ペ ルフルオロデカン、ペルフルオロヘキサン、ペルフルオロオクタン、ペルフルオ ロデカン、トリフルオロトルエン、ペンタフルオロトルエン、及びガールデン流 体からなる群から選択される、請求項33に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 35.懸濁媒体が、更に第二炭化水素溶媒を含む、請求項31に記載の誘電体懸 濁物。 36.第二炭化水素溶媒が、フェニルキシリルエタンの混合物、トルエン、ベン ゼン、キシレン、シクロヘキサン、sec−ブチルベンゼン、フェニルオクタン 、デカン、オクタン、ヘキサデカン、及びデカリンからなる群からのものである 、請求項35に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 37.電荷調節剤が、[R1]がフルオロカーボンであり、Nが3〜20の反復 単位の数であり、且つ[R2]がエトキシ炭化水素であり、Mが3〜20の反復 単位数である、式を有する、請求項31に記載の誘電体懸濁物。 38.表面活性剤が、主に炭素及び水素であるブロックと、主に炭素とフッ素で あるブロックを含む重合体である、請求項31に記載の誘電体懸濁物。
