Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber compsn for a vulcanizing bladder having improved durability by compounding a rubber component contg. butyl rubber with a specified amt. of a methylolated phenol resin as the vulcanizing agent. SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a methylolated phenol resin having methylol content of 10-12wt.% and a rubber component contg. butyl rubber and optionally a halogenated rubber as the vulcanization catalyst. The content of the methylolated phenol resin is 5-15wt.% of the rubber component, which comprises 80-100wt.% butyl rubber and 0-20wt.% chloroprene rubber. Thus is obtd. a vulcanizing bladder which exhibits a low permanent elongation and can withstand the use at high temps. under repeated elongation.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a rubber balloon-shaped vulcanizing bladder used in a tire vulcanizing process uses a resin-vulcanized butyl rubber exhibiting excellent heat resistance in order to repeatedly give elongation at a high temperature. . This resin vulcanization involves the use of a dimethylolated phenol resin (resole type) or the like as a vulcanizing agent for butyl rubber and a halogen-containing rubber such as chloroprene rubber, chlorosulfonated polyethylene, or halogenated butyl rubber or ferrous chloride as a vulcanization catalyst. And vulcanization at a high temperature using a metal chloride such as stannous chloride. The property required for this vulcanizing bladder is to reduce permanent elongation, but it is not always satisfactory with conventional vulcanizing bladders.

As a result of various studies to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present inventor has found that the methylol component of the methylolated phenol resin used for vulcanization of the resin is reduced from 8 to 9% of the conventional value to 10 to 10%. It was found that the permanent elongation was significantly reduced by setting it to 12%, and based on this finding,
The present invention has been completed.

[0008] The methylolated phenolic resin (resole resin) according to the rubber composition for vulcanizing bladders of the present invention comprises:
It is characterized in that it contains 10 to 12% by weight of a methylol component in the resin, and is used as a vulcanizing agent. The amount of the methylolated phenolic resin (resole resin) in the rubber composition for vulcanizing bladders of the present invention is 5 to 15 parts by weight, preferably 7 to 10 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the rubber component. If the amount is less than 5 parts by weight, the vulcanization time for bladder molding needs to be extended, and if it exceeds 15 parts by weight, the permanent elongation is undesirably large. The vulcanization bladder using these resins has a lower permanent elongation than a conventional vulcanization bladder using a methylolated phenol resin (resole resin) containing 8 to 9% by weight of a methylol component. The life of the bladder is improved by 1.5 times or more.

The bladder of the present invention includes HAF, FEF,
A supplementary filler such as furnace-based carbon black such as GPP, acetylene black, or channel-based carbon black is added in an amount of 20 to 100 parts by weight based on the butyl rubber component.
It may be appropriately blended in the range of 80 parts by weight, and zinc white may be blended in the range of 0.5 to 8 parts by weight. Carbon black is 20
If the amount is less than 10 parts by weight, the tensile strength will be low. If the amount exceeds 80 parts by weight, not only the workability will deteriorate, but also the bending resistance will deteriorate and the life will be shortened.

Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 Tire vulcanizing bladders were trial-produced in accordance with the mixing tables in Tables 1 and 2, and the permanent elongation was measured. Tables 1 and 2 show the average values of 10 measurements each. Measurement of permanent elongation is based on JIS K6301
It went based on. The initial length of the entire circumference of the vulcanizing bladder for tires was L (0), and the length of the entire circumference after 500 uses was L (500), and the permanent elongation was determined by the following equation. Permanent elongation (%) = {L (500) -L (0)} / L
