Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.近表面におけるルートパスと前記近表面から遠表面への方向に前記ルート パス上に順次積み重ねた複数のパスとにより少なくとも部分的に形成された溶接 継手(6)により深さ方向に接合された第1および第2金属部品(2、4)を熱 処理する方法であって、この熱処理の前では前記溶接継手が前記近表面に所定の 引張応力と実質的に等しいかまたはそれより大きい残留引張応力を有している場 合における熱処理方法において、 前記近表面と前記遠表面との間で材料に温度分布を生成するに十分な速度で前 記遠表面に沿って走行する電極(10,18)の先端から電流のアークを放出す ることによって前記溶接継手の前記遠表面を加熱する段階を有し、これにより、 前記の加熱した遠表面の冷却時に圧縮応力または前記所定の引張応力より小さな 引張応力を前記近表面に生成し、また前記加熱段階を前記近表面の補助流体冷却 なしに行うことを特徴とする熱処理方法。 2.前記所定の引張応力が前記溶接継手の材料の降伏強度に実質的に等しいこ とを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 3.前記電極先端(10c,18c)が毎分10インチより大きい速度で走行 することを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 4.前記遠表面を形成する材料を溶融することなしに前記遠表面を加熱するこ とを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 5.前記第1および第2金属部品が管であり、前記電極先端(10c,18c )が毎分10インチより大きい速度で走行することを特徴とする請求項1記載の 方法。 6.前記加熱段階中に溶加材を加える段階を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記 載の方法。 7.前記第1および第2金属部品がそれぞれ6度より小さなベベル角度を有す ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 8.前記加熱段階を水素およびヘリウムの一方または両方を含む不活性ガス雰 囲気内で行うことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 9.前記アークが前記電極先端(10c,18c)の走行中に横方向に振動す ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 10.前記加熱段階が第1および第2軸方向位置それぞれにおける前記電極の 第1および第2平行パスからなることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
