Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the liability of a carrier tape for electronic parts to damage the holding part, such as collapsing, by providing an outward projection at each of the angles of the holding part which consists of a rectangular recess to hold an electronic part in the carrier tape with feeding perforations. SOLUTION: A carrier tape 1 consists of a strip of plastic 2, such as a film of polystyrene, and has holding parts 3 and feeding perforations 4 both at regular intervals. Each of the holding parts 3 is substantially rectangular, tapers with the breadth narrowing with depth, and has along each of the four angles 5 a projection 6 jutting out outward to a height of approximately 0.1-0.3mm. This projection 6 extends along the angle 5 from end to end, forming an acute angle at the end 7, that is, an angle of a triangle in section. The projection 6 may be shaped as desired, for example, in a rectangle or in curves in section. This constitution enables preventing the holding parts from being damaged and makes it easy to pay the carrier tape off its reel.

For example, as shown in FIG. 3, a conventional carrier tape 20 is composed of a plastic band-like member 21 having angular recesses at equal intervals, and corners 22 are provided with R-shaped storage portions 23. The feed holes 24 are provided at the side ends at equal intervals. The carrier tape 20 is usually wound on a reel. Then, the carrier tape 20 is pulled out from the reel, the electronic parts are stored in the storage portion 23, and the cover tape is attached to the surface of the band-shaped body 21 to store the storage portion 23.
Is coated. After applying the cover tape, the carrier tape 20 is wound on another reel.

However, when the carrier tape 20 is wound on the reel, the storage portions 23 may partially or completely overlap each other as shown in FIG. In this case, when the carrier tape 20 is strongly wound around the reel, the storage portion 23 located on the upper side is strongly pressed or inserted into the storage portion 23 below. However, in the carrier tape 20, for example, the thickness of the side wall of the storage portion 23 is only about 0.15 mm. Therefore, when the storage portions 23 are pressed against each other, they are crushed and damaged. Further, in this case, there is a drawback that it becomes difficult to pull out the carrier tape 20 from the reel.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION To solve the above problems, the present invention provides a carrier tape for an electronic component, which has a storage portion formed of an angular recess for storing the electronic component, and a feed hole. An object of the present invention is to provide a carrier tape for an electronic component, which is characterized in that an outward projection is provided at a corner portion of the portion.

According to the present invention, since the outward projections are provided at the corners of the storage section, the strength in the vertical direction is increased, and the upper storage section is less likely to enter the lower storage section. It can prevent the storage part from being crushed and damaged.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In FIGS. 1 (a) and (b),
Reference numeral 1 denotes a carrier tape, which is a plastic band member 2 such as a polystyrene film in which a storage portion 3 and a feed hole 4 are provided at equal intervals. The accommodating portion 3 has a substantially rectangular shape and is tapered with a narrower width on the lower side, and is provided with an outwardly protruding projection 6 having a height of about 0.1 to 0.3 mm along the corner portion 5. . This protrusion 6 is provided from one end of the corner 5 to the other,
The tip 7 is formed into an acute angle so that the cross section has a triangular shape. The shape of the projection is arbitrary, and for example, the projection 8 may have a rectangular cross section as shown in FIG. 2A or the projection 9 may have an arcuate cross section as shown in FIG. .

Next, a method of manufacturing the above carrier tape 1 will be described. Thickness of polystyrene film etc.
A 2-0.3 mm raw sheet is cut into a width of 8-12 mm.
After cutting, the storage unit 3 is formed by using a mold whose temperature is 50 to 60 ° C.
To form At this time, the protrusion 6 is also formed at the same time. Then, after forming the storage portion 3, it is cooled at room temperature and the feed hole 4 is formed by press punching. After forming the feed hole 4, the carrier tape 1 is wound on a reel.

EXAMPLES Next, with respect to the examples of the present invention, the overlapping state and the strength of the accommodating portion were measured together with the conventional carrier tape. The conditions of the example and the conventional example are as follows. Example: A carrier tape having the structure shown in FIG. 1 is used. The strip has a thickness of 0.25 mm and a width of 8.0 mm. The storage area is 3.5 mm long, 1.9 mm wide, and 2.1 mm deep.
The height of the protrusion is 0.1 to 0.3 mm. Conventional example: Same as the embodiment except that the structure shown in FIG. 3 is used.

As a result of the measurement, in the examples, there was no overlap in which the upper storage portion entered the lower storage portion when wound on a reel. On the other hand, in the conventional example, there is a portion where the upper storage portion enters the lower storage portion. In addition, the crushing strength of the storage part is 220 to 300 g in the embodiment, whereas it is 150 to 200 g in the conventional example, and the former is 1.1 to 2 times higher than the latter.

As described above, according to the present invention, since the outward projections are provided at the corners of the storage portion, damage such as crushing of the storage portion can be reduced, and the electronic device can be easily pulled out from the reel. A component carrier tape is obtained.
