Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wig for medical use having a remarkable cushioning property between the wig cap and the scalp for imparting the wearing person with comfortable feeling. SOLUTION: This wig is provided with a cap having an inner surface to be placed close to the scalp and an outer surface having a plurality of hairs 11 bonded thereto. At least a part of the cap is made of a cloth 6 having the 1st surface composed of warps and wefts and the 2nd surface composed of protruded piles containing loops 10 made of a synthetic filament material. The cloth is bonded to the inner surface of the cap in a state to contact the scalp with the 2nd surface composed of the loop-containing protruded piles made of a synthetic filament material when the wig is put on the head of the user.

Background of the Invention Various medical and genetic situations can result in complete or partial loss of hair. In particular, patients undergoing chemotherapy for cancer often suffer tragedy resulting in complete or partial loss of hair. Loss of hair can be easily concealed by a wig, and in fact various wigs exist for this purpose.

Non-medical wigs generally consist of a small hat designed to fit the head closely, to which artificial or natural hair is glued. The hat can be formed of a porous cloth or elongate material spaced at various intervals, or a combination of both. Such porous cloth or elongate material is preferably formed from a stretchable material such as a stretchable lace, which facilitates putting on and taking off of the wig. The wig of the present invention incorporates the uncut "loop side" of the aforesaid securing device within the fabric cap forming the wig, and the loop side is positioned adjacent the scalp.

FIG. 1 illustrates one type of conventional wig cap made of cloth.
