グ部分のシール性を十分に保つことが必要である。そこ
で、一般にはサンルーフ本体の全周縁部にウエザースト
リップを装着して、該ウエザーストリップによって車室

ーストリップ基体５の外周側に位置し、ルーフ開口縁部
６に密接する中空リップ部７と、この中空リップ部７の
内部空間内に位置し、中空リップ部７の一部とウエザー
ストリップ基体５とを連繁して中空リップ部７を補強す
る支柱部８とを備えている。そして、このウエザースト
リップ４のウエザーストリップ基体５には、サンルーフ
本体３の金属リテーナ９に嵌着される係合溝10を形成し
てある。又、ウエザーストリップ４の支柱部８には、第
２図に示すように、薄肉部分11を形成してあり、サンル
ーフ本体３のコーナー部分12に相当する部位では中空リ
ップ部７を介して支柱部８を引張ることにより薄肉部分
11を破断し、支柱部８をウエザーストリップ基体５から
切り離している（第３図参照）。但し、この支柱部８の
薄肉部分11は、サンルーフ本体３の開閉時に作用する力

プ部７の内部空間にエアーを吹き込めば、支柱部８が倒
れようとする力に影響を受けることがないので、コーナ
ー部分12にへこみ変形等の形状不良を生じることなく所
望形状に成形でき、外観品質（見栄え）を著しく向上す
ることができる。又、本実施例のウエザーストリップ４
は、コーナー部分12以外の中空リップ部７が支柱部８に
よりウエザーストリップ基体５に連繁されているため、
サンルーフ本体３の閉扉時に、中空リップ部７がルーフ
パネル１よりも外方へ突出することがなく、車体外観品
