Abstract

PURPOSE: To obprepare an ant preventive agent capable of remarkably manifesting a synergistic effect, having high ant preventive potency even at a low concentration of the agent in use and reducing toxicity problems owing to small amount of the residual agent. CONSTITUTION: In this ant preventive agent, 100 pts.wt. o, o-diethyl-o-(3-oxo-2- phenyl-2H-pyridazin-6-yl)phosphorothionate (pyridafenthion) is used together with preferably 5-100 pts.wt. 2-sec-butylphenyl-methyl carbomate (fenobucarb). The ant preventive agent is easy to handle and economically advantageous. Ant preventive potency is imparted to a woody material by directly coating on the surface of the woody material or compressively impregnating the ant preventive agent thereto. In is able to indirectly prevent ants by adhering the ant preventive agent to binding parts, a base, etc., which contact with the woody material or spraying the agent on soil, etc.

2. Description of the Related Art Woody materials are used as building materials in houses and structures, and are often used as furniture and other general industrial materials or general civil engineering materials. Most are caused by feeding damage by termites and other harmful insects. Therefore, in order to protect the wood material from termite feeding damage, a method of applying or impregnating the wood material with an anti-termite agent, or applying an anti-termite agent to other members that come into contact with the wood material, or Alternatively, a method of spraying an anti-termite agent on the surrounding soil has been used.

Conventionally, chlordane, which is an organochlorine insecticide, has been used as such an anti-termite agent, but since it is highly toxic and its decomposition rate in the environment is slow, it causes environmental pollution. Instead, pyridafenthion (o, o-diethyl-o- (3
-Oxo-2-phenyl-2H-pyridazin-6-yl) phosphorothionates) have become used. Although this pyridafenthion has a relatively low acute toxicity, it is desired to reduce the amount of its use as much as possible because the interest on the effect on the human body is increasing. However, reducing the amount used without lowering the termite prevention effect has not yet been successful. On the other hand, fenobucurb (2-sec-butylphenyl-methylcarbamate) is known as a carbamate type termiticide, but it has not been put into practical use because of its high acute toxicity.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Under the above circumstances, the present invention has high ant-repellent performance even when the drug concentration at the time of use is low, and therefore the residual amount of the drug is small and the problem relating to toxicity can be alleviated. The purpose is to provide a possible ant-preventive agent.

(Example 1) Concentration (wt%) of pyridaphenthione (A) and fenobu curve (B) shown in Table 1 in xylene
Were dissolved in the following manner to prepare an anti-termite agent (oil agent). Next, each of the above oil solutions was applied at a rate of 100 g / m 2 on the surface of a 10 mm × 10 mm × 20 mm Japanese red pine sapwood, and allowed to stand in a room for 20 days to dry to prepare respective test pieces. Then, with respect to each of these test bodies, the termite prevention performance was evaluated according to the comprehensive test method described in the Japan Wood Preservation Association Standard No. 11.

The acrylic resin tube with one end sealed with anhydrite of about 5 mm in thickness to form a bottom container is erected upright on absorbent cotton soaked with water, and each test piece is placed in the center of the bottom. Put 150 termites on the top and put them at 26 ° C and 70% humidity.
The sample was allowed to stand in a dark room for 3 weeks, and the amount of reduction in dry weight of the test body due to feeding damage was measured. Then, the average weight loss rate (%) was calculated from the results of the five tests and is also shown in Table 1.

From the results shown in Table 1, it can be seen that the termite control agent of the present invention exhibits extremely excellent termite control performance even when the concentration of the active ingredient is low. Also, comparing the concentrations of the active ingredients required to keep the average weight loss rate to 3% or less, 1.2% or more when only pyridafenthion was used and 0.6% or more when only Phenob curve was used. While it is necessary, it can be seen that the same effect can be obtained with 0.4% in the case of the present invention.

With respect to each of these test soils, the termite prevention performance was evaluated according to the indoor perforation test method described in Japan Wood Preservation Association Standard No. 13. That is, each test soil was packed in a glass tube having an inner diameter of 15 mm and a length of 10 cm so as to have a length of 5 cm, and one end thereof was moistened with soil and 200 termites having an inner diameter of about 5 cm. A glass container was connected, and the other end was connected with a similar glass container containing wood powder of Japanese red pine sapwood. In this way, the sample was left in a dark room at 26 ° C. and 70% humidity for 3 weeks, and the distance by which termites perforated the soil during that period was measured. Then, the longest perforation length (mm) was determined from the results of three tests and is also shown in Table 2.

Example 3 Pyridaphenthione (A) and Phenobucurb (B) were dissolved in methanol so as to have the concentrations (% by weight) shown in Table 3 to prepare respective drug solutions, and clay for granules was prepared. 80 parts by weight of the carrier and 20 parts by weight of each of the above drug solutions were mixed and dried to prepare the termiticide (granule). Next, 1 g of granules was mixed with 12 g of dry soil, and then the same weather resistance operation and water content adjustment as in Example 2 were performed to prepare test soils. Then, the longest perforation length (mm) was measured by performing a perforation test with termites in the same manner as in Example 2, and the results of evaluation of the termite prevention performance are also shown in Table 3.
