Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.第1と第2の光子ビームチャネル(38、36)における共役エネルギーを 有する光子の相関対(42、40)の発生源を含む送信機(12)と、 (i)受信された光子の間の一致を計数するように構成された一致計数手段(9 2)と、(ii)一致計数率の変化に応答し且つ通信信号(112)を与えるよ うに構成された識別手段(114)とを含む受信機(14) を有する光通信システム(10)であって、前記送信機(12)が、 (a)送信機信号入力(52)に応じた変調可能なスペクトル分散特性を有する 、第1の光子ビームチャネル(38)内の送信機ろ波手段(50)と、 (b)タイミング信号(60)を送信するために前記送信機ろ波手段の出力に応 答する手段とを含み、 前記受信機(14)が、信号入力が存在しない時に前記送信機ろ波手段(50) のスペクトル分散特性に対して共役であるスペクトル分散特注を有する受信機ろ 波手段(94)を含み、且つ前記受信機ろ波手段(94)1が、受信光子のスペ クトル特性に基づいて、各々の受信機チャネル(96、98)に受信光子(86 )を分けるために備えられ、前記一致計数手段が、タイミング信号(84)と、 受信機チャネル(96、98)の少なくとも一方のチャネルからの光子とを受け 取るように構成されていることを特徴とする光通信システム。 2.(a)前記受信機ろ波手段(94)が、その一方が前記スペクトル分散特性 を有し且つその他方が前記スペクトル分散特性に対してスペクトル的に共役であ るスペクトル分散特性を有する2つのフィルタチャネル(154、156)を有 し、前記受信機ろ波手段(94)が、共役スペクトルを別々の2つの光子ビーム (96、98)に与えるように構成され、 (b)前記一致計数手段(92)が、共役な前記2つの光子ビーム(96、98 )と前記タイミング信号(90)との間の一致率の各々を計数するように構成さ れている ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のシステム。 3.前記システムが、ディジタル2進信号(52)を送信するように構成され、 (a)前記ディジタル信号(52)に応じて2つの共役なスペクトル分散特性の 間で前記送信機ろ波手段に(50)をスイッチングするための手段(162、1 64)を含み、 (b)前記受信機識別手段(124)が、各々の共役スペクトルビーム(96、 98)に対応する2つの一致計数率の変化に応答し、且つ通信信号(112)を 与えるために一方の一致率から他方の一致率を減算するように構成されている ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のシステム。 4.(a)前記送信機ろ波手段(50)が、一方の干渉計アームに電気光学変調 器(162)を含むマッハ・ツェンダー干渉計であり、(b)前記受信機ろ波手 段(94)が、前記変調器(162)が休止中である時に、前記送信機ろ波手段 (50)内の対応する光路長に等しい光路長を有するマッハ・ツェンダー干渉計 であることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。 5.(a)前記システムが、光子対(40、42)1つ当たり1つのピットの通 信を行うように構成され、 (b)前記送信機ろ波手段(50)と前記受信機ろ波手段(94)とが、前記送 信機ろ波手段の適切な変調が前記2つの一致率の実質的に100%の変調を生じ させるように使用されることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のシステム。 6.(m)送信機ろ波手段(50′)が2つのフィルタチャネル(54′、16 8′)を有し、 (b)受信機ろ波手段(258)が受信機信号入力(260)に応じた変調可能 なスペクトル分散特性を有し、 (c)前記送信機ろ波手段(50′)と前記受信機ろ波手段(258)の各々が 、ランダムな送信機入力信号(52′)又は受信機入力信号(260)に応じた 、各々に予め決められた少なくとも3つの位相差の間における変調のために使用 され、送信機位相差と受信機位相差との組合せの少なくとも1つの組合せが、2 つの一致率の実質的に100%の変調を与える ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のシステム。 7.前記送信機ろ波手段(50′)と前記受信機ろ波手段(258)の両方が、 その一方の干渉計アームに電気光学変調器を各々が含むマッハ・ツェンダー干渉 計であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のシステム。 8.単一ビームとしての送信のために前記タイミング信号と第2の送信機チャネ ル光子ビームとを組み合わせるための手段(48)を含むことを特徴とする請求 項1から7のいずれかに記載のシステム。 9.自由空間を介して前記送信機から前記受信機に前記タイミング信号と第2の 送信機チャネル光子ビームとを送信するための手段を含むことを特徴とする請求 項1から8のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。 10.前記送信機から前記受信機に前記タイミング信号と第2の送信機チャネル 光子ビームとを送信するための1つ以上の光ファイバを含むことを特徴とする請 求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。 11.前記相関光子対の発生減が、ポンプレーザ(18)と、非線形結晶体(2 0)と、適切に位置決めされた2つのアパーチャ(32、34)とを含むことを 特徴とする請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。 12.前記相関光子対の発生源がカスケード原子源であることを特徴とする請求 項1から9のいずれか一項に記載のシステム。
