Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a hair rinse composition remarkably improving the luster, smoothness and wet finish of hair and also excellent in other hair conditioning effects. CONSTITUTION:A hair rinse composition contains (A) 0.5-6wt.% of a bis(2-alkyl- N-hydroxyethylimidazoline) chloroacetic acid complex type amphoteric surfactant of formula I (R is 12-22C linear or branched alkyl), (B) 0.3-3wt.% of one or more kinds of silicones of formula II (all R5 groups are methyl or partially phenyl, but >=90% of all R5 groups are methyl; R6 is methyl, OH; m is 900-1300), and (C) 1.0-7wt.% of one or more kinds of silicones of formula III (n is 100-300). The components B and C are compounded at a weight ratio of 1:2 to 1:6. The composition may preferably be compounded with a vegetable oil, a nonionic surfactant, a humectant, a sterilizer, a dandruff-removing agent, a chelating agent, an UV absorber, etc.

When the hair is washed with a shampoo containing an anionic surfactant as a main component in order to remove stains on the hair, not only stains on the hair but also oil components protecting the hair surface are removed. At the same time, the hair becomes dull and has poor combability, and damage to the hair, split ends, and cut hair are likely to occur.

These hair rinse agents have a conditioning effect on the hair (softness, moisturizing, smoothness,
The purpose is to impart combability and luster), but the quaternary ammonium salt alone cannot provide a sufficient effect in terms of luster, smoothness and moist feel of the finish. Therefore, it has been proposed to blend oils and fats such as higher alcohols, glycerides and liquid paraffin in conventional hair rinse agents in order to improve these drawbacks. In recent years, hair care products using silicone gum have also been proposed for the purpose of improving the luster and smoothness of hair.

However, the hair care products using these silicone gums are also those in which the silicone gums adhered to the hair are partially released during the continuous use by consumers.
The reality is that smoothness, combability, and luster have not been satisfactory.

As is clear from Examples 1 to 6, all the hair rinse composition of the present invention showed excellent performance. On the other hand, when either of the essential components bis (2-alkyl-N-hydroxyethylimidazoline) chloroacetic acid complex type amphoteric surfactant or silicone is lacking (Comparative Examples 1 to 3), or their compounding amount and silicone. When the average degree of polymerization (m, n) is outside the range of the present invention (Comparative Example 4)
Nos. 10 to 10 all showed inferior performance and could not achieve the object of the present invention.
