引っ張り力を直接縫製部にかからない様にしつつ、布の
織りそのもので受け止めるようにし、その一方で、まっ
たく布のみで受け止めるだけでなく縫製部の強度でうけ
とめることにより、初期目的の設計形状に突出形状から
早く回復させるストラップ効果を実現することができ
る。

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 エアバッグケースの開口部に固定する口
元部から乗員を受け止める底面部にかけ、テーパ状に広
がる概略四角錐状のエアバッグを形成するエアバッグ用
基布において、上記底面部用基布1の上下端部から夫
々、上面部用基布3と下面部用基布4とを一体に延出す
ると共に、これら上面部用基布3と下面部用基布4、な
らびに上記底面部用基布1の各両側縁部から夫々、個々
の辺を縫合することにより前記四角錐の側面部を形成す
る、略三角形状の上部側面部用基布5,5と下部側面部
用基布7,7、ならびに底部側面部用基布6,6を一体
に延出せしめ、さらに、上記上部側面部用基布5,5と
底部側面部用基布6,6の相互に隣合う各辺5b…6a
を、基布を上面部用基布3と底面部用基布1の境界線8
で2つ折りした際に、左右の辺同士が夫々一致して重合
するよう形成し、また上記下部側面部用基布7,7と底
部側面部用基布6,6の相互に隣合う各辺7b…6b
を、基布を下面部用基布4と底面部用基布1の境界線9
で2つ折りした際に、左右の辺同士が夫々一致して重合
するよう形成し、かつ上部側面部用基布5,5と下部側
面部用基布7,7の相互に最も離間する各辺5a…7a
を、基布の口元部をつき合わせて重合した際に、左右の
辺同士が夫々一致して重合するよう形成せしめたことを

返してエアバッグ袋体を形成する工程とを有することを
