なくし、助手席用エアバッグの製造コストを著しく低廉
ならしめて、しかも量産に適するとの極めて優れた効果
を奏するものである。

部から乗員を受け止める底面部にかけテーパ状に広がる
略截頭四角錐状のエアバッグの製造方法であって、エア
バッグの基布として、上記底面部を構成する底面部用基
布(1)の上下端部から夫々、先端に口元部用基布
(2),(2)を各々有する上面部用基布(3)ならび
に下面部用基布(4)を一体に延出し、かつこれら上面
部用基布(3)と下面部用基布(4)の各両側縁部か
ら、夫々に前記四角錐の側面部を構成する側面部用基布
(5)…(5)を一体に延出せしめた一枚物の布を用
い、上記基布を二つ折りして上面部用基布(3)と下面
部用基布(4)とを重ねると共に、これら上・下面部用
基布から延出した前記側面部用基布(5)…(5)の対
向縁部(5a)…(5a)同士を縫着する工程と、上記
2つ折りした基布を角錐状に起こし、前記底面部用基布
(1)の両側縁部(1a),(1a)と上記側面部用基
布(5)…(5)の基端側縁部(5b )…(5b )とを
縫着する工程とを施し、後、この基布を裏返してエアバ
ッグ袋体を形成せしめることを特徴とする助手席用エア
バッグの製造方法。
1.
