Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve a narrow pitch in accordance with a board side wiring pattern, and downsize a width of a connector device by using the wiring pattern in a flexible printed wiring board as a contact. CONSTITUTION:A spring member 1 integrated with one end of a flexible printed wiring(FPC) board 3 is held by an upper mould member 7 and a lower mould member 8 at a flat surface part only. A ridge part (a) of the member 1 is not held by the members 7, 8, but it is released at a height of a guide pin 2, so another connection member can be inserted from this part. The part (a) has flexibility because the members 7, 8 keeps the ridge part (a) unfixed. A metal shell 10 having an aperture 9 is engaged with the members 7, 8 to shield the FPC board 3 inside. A wiring pattern 5 in the FPC board 3 applied to the member 1 is used as a contact as it is. By forming the contact parts at a narrow pitch, therefore, a connector device can be compact.

By the way, in the recent wiring pattern forming technology, the wiring pattern 32 is formed on the rigid substrate 31, for example.
It is possible to form a narrow pitch of about 0.1 mm to 0.3 mm, and by densifying the wiring pattern 32, a wide space can be secured as a component mounting space. Needless to say, the wiring pattern of the FPC board 35 can be similarly formed.

On the other hand, the connector device 30 has a structure in which a plurality of metal pins 34 are mechanically arranged in parallel.
Since there are variations in the tip of the, considering this,
About 0.5mm pitch is the limit for narrowing the pin pitch.

Therefore, even if the width of the entire wiring pattern 32 formed on the rigid substrate 31 can be reduced, the connector device 3
0 cannot be downsized, and in general, in the vicinity of the mounting portion of the connector device 30 on the rigid board 31, a method of widening the pitch of the wiring patterns 32 so as to correspond to the pitch between pins of the connector device 30 is adopted. But with this,
If the space on the rigid substrate 31 cannot be effectively used, inconvenience occurs.

In the figure, reference numeral 1 is a spring member having a mountain-shaped portion a formed at one end. The spring member 1 is formed, for example, by punching out a stainless steel plate so that the outer shape is a square shape. Two notches are formed near both edges of one side of the spring member, and a plate-shaped portion between the notches is formed. Positioning pins 2 are projected in the shape of a mountain and are placed on flat parts on both sides of the mountain.

It is formed in a narrow pitch up to about 0.3 mm pitch. Note that the copper foil is exposed at the pattern portion 5a of the wiring pattern 5 located in the mountain-shaped portion a of the spring member 1, so that the connection can be obtained electrically by contacting the contact point of another conductive member. The spring member 1 which is integral with one end of the FPC board 3 is sandwiched by two mold members (upper mold 7 and lower mold 8) from the front and back only in the plane portion thereof. The mountain-shaped portion a of the spring member 1 is not sandwiched between these mold members 7 and 8 and is opened by the width of the height of the guide pin 2, and another connecting member can be inserted from this portion. Since the mold members 7 and 8 do not fix the mountain portion a of the spring member 1, the mountain portion a has elasticity. A metal shell 10 having an opening 9 is fitted into the mold members 7 and 8, and the FPC board 3 inside the metal shell 10 is fitted therein.
It is designed to shield.

Since the wiring pattern 5 of the C plate 3 is used as it is as a contact, the contact pitch is determined by the pitch of the wiring pattern 5. The wiring pattern 5 of the FPC board 3 is formed with a narrow pitch similarly (correspondingly) to the wiring pattern formed on the rigid flex wiring board 4 by the conventional pattern forming technique, so that the same number of wirings as the conventional one is used. However, the width of the connector device is narrow.

When connecting this connector device to another connecting member, the connecting member is inserted through the opening 9 of the metal shell 10. Then, the contact point of the connection member comes into contact with the pattern portion 5a of the mountain portion a of the spring member 1. Then, when the connecting member is further inserted, the mountain-shaped portion a bends and the contact point of the connecting member advances to the back to obtain a stable contact pressure with respect to the pattern portion 5a.
