Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a packing material which is easy to incinerate, does not generate of harmful gas nor become a cause of environmental pollution if thrown underground, by providing a part made of foamed grain material. CONSTITUTION:Foamed grain material can be obtained by pressing grains while being heated, and rapidly vacuuming and foaming them when a desired temperature is reached. Then the foamed grain material is molded by a die of a desired shape into a desired packing material. In this instance, the foamed grain material 1 is put into a container and mixed with an adhesive such as starch by being kneeded by a kneeding device. Next, this obtained mixture is filled into a molding press die 4 whose inside can be heated by a heat generator 5 and pressed while being heated. After that, the die 4 is cooled, and a mold is taken out of the die 4. Thus the title packing material is obtained. This facilitates extremely a processing operation such as incineration, throwing away or resolution, and further no problems of environmental pollution occur, and therefore, a process plant run at a low cost can be realized.

However, those using plastics have the following drawbacks. 1) Since petroleum is used as a raw material, toxic gas is often generated when incinerated. 2) When it is discarded in the ground, it is not decomposed by microorganisms in the natural world, or even if it is decomposed, the speed is very slow. 3) When an organism such as an animal or a human is eaten by an accident, the life of the organism may be dangerous. 4) In consideration of the above-mentioned problems, it is necessary to dispose of so as not to cause environmental pollution, but the plant for that purpose requires a huge cost. 5) Oil, which is a raw material, is a finite resource and cannot be used indefinitely.

The foamed grain material in the present invention means
It is obtained by pressurizing grains under heating and rapidly depressurizing them when they reach an appropriate temperature. The conditions of heating, pressurization and depressurization when foaming the grain are appropriately set according to the type of grain used. The foamed grain material is molded into a shape according to the purpose and used as a packing material. Various methods can be used as the molding method.

For example, first, as shown in FIG. 1, foamed grain material 1 is placed in a suitable container 8 and mixed with an appropriate amount of an adhesive 3 such as starch paste while being stirred by a stirring device 2. Next, FIG.
As shown in FIG. 5, the obtained mixture is filled in a molding press die 4 capable of heating the inside of the die with a heat generator 5 and pressed under heating. The conditions for pressing are appropriately adjusted depending on the type of the expanded grain material 1 and the quality of the obtained product. The heating temperature may be selected mainly according to the type of adhesive used.
After cooling the mold 4, the molded product can be taken out of the mold to obtain the packaging material 6 shown in FIG.

The packing material of the present invention can also be manufactured by simultaneously performing foaming and molding in a mold. For example, grain (non-foamed) 1a is put into a press mold 4 having a heating device 5 and a pressure reducing valve 7 shown in FIG. The amount of grain 1a is determined in consideration of the volume required for molding obtained after foaming. Next, the press die 4 is heated while heating the inside of the die with the heating device 5.
When the temperature and pressure necessary for foaming have been obtained, the pressure is momentarily released from the pressure reducing valve 7 to the outside of the mold 4 to cause the grains in the mold 4 to foam and at the same time be molded by the mold 4. (See Figure 5). The mold 4 is cooled, the molded product is taken out, and the packing material 6 having the shape shown in FIG. 3 is obtained.
