[Means for Solving the Problems] In order to achieve the above object, the method for cleaning a rail vehicle of the present invention includes spraying clean water onto the vehicle and cleaning the vehicle with clean water using a rotating brush, and maintaining the clean water cleaning state. When it is detected that the washing has continued for a predetermined number of times or for a predetermined period of time, the cleaning water is mixed with the clean water manually or automatically, and the mixed cleaning water is sprayed onto the rotary brush to clean the vehicle and simultaneously wash the rotary brush for a predetermined period of time. It is characterized by cleaning with detergent, and then returning to clean water cleaning by spraying only clean water through the rotating brush.

When washing the vehicle 16, the front and rear rotary brushes 1, 2, 3, and 4 are swung by the action of a proximity switch (not shown) that detects the entry of a vehicle, project to a position where they are pressed against the vehicle outer plate, and rotate. Next, the front and rear pumps 8 and 9 are driven to suck up fresh water, and the fresh water is sprayed toward the vehicle 16 from the brush self-cleaning spray pipe 5, the pre-washing spray pipe 6, and the fresh water spray pipe 7. As the vehicle 16 moves forward, it is cleaned by the front and rear rotary brushes 1, 2, 3, and 4 and the spray of fresh water from these brushes.

The degree of contamination of the front rotary brushes 1 and 2 varies depending on the degree of contamination of the vehicle, but it can be determined that the brushes become contaminated by the number of times the vehicle is washed or by a certain period of time for each vehicle area where the vehicle is located.

Therefore, when the vehicle is washed with fresh water for a certain period of time (for example, several days or weeks), a brush self-cleaning instruction is issued by the method described below. For example, there is a method in which the control section 13 automatically determines whether the closing time of the electric valve 14 matches the value of the certain time set in the timer 13a, or a method in which the control section 13 automatically determines whether the number of times the vehicle is washed and this limit number of times is determined. The control unit 13 determines whether or not the front rotating brushes 1 and 2 are the same by manually inputting an operation signal to the control unit 13 using a switch (not shown) when the front rotating brushes 1 and 2 become contaminated due to manual management. is determined to be the limit of contamination, and when washing the vehicle after this brush self-cleaning instruction is issued, the electric valve 14 is automatically opened for a predetermined time set in the timer 13b of the control unit 13, and the detergent in the detergent storage tank 10 is The liquid is mixed with clean water, and this detergent water is sprayed from the brush self-cleaning spray pipe 5 and the pre-washing spray pipe 6, and the front rotary brushes 1 and 2 are scrubbed on the side of the vehicle while washing the vehicle, and are subjected to the brush self-cleaning action to remove contamination. The substance is washed away. Further, the rear component B cleans the vehicle with fresh water using rotating brushes 3, 4 and a fresh water spray pipe 7.

In the above-described embodiment, the switching means (electric valve) 14 is configured to control only the outflow of detergent from the detergent storage tank 10, and when the electric valve 14 is opened, the detergent and fresh water are mixed by the operation of the front and rear pumps 9. When the electric valve 14 is closed, only clean water is sprayed from the brush self-cleaning spray pipe 5 to the front and rear rotating brushes 1 and 2. In order to switch between water or fresh water, it can be provided at these joints.
