ク部品からなるプラスチック製品の製造におけるプラス
チック部品の加熱溶着による接合方法に関する。
合する場合、各部品間をOリング、デルタリングなどの
ガスケットを用いてねじ込み方式やフランジ締め方式で
組み立てる方法、あるいはこれらの方法より簡便な方法
として部品を順次2個ずつ溶着接合する方法などが採用
されてきた。
合方法はそれぞれ次のような欠点を有していた。即ち、
ガスケットを用いる接合方法は複雑な構造の部品製作が
必要となり部品数が増加する、形も大きくなるなどの欠
点を有していた。一方溶着接合する方法も、近接した溶
着箇所を有する部品においては溶着を重ねると部品の変
形が避けられないという欠点を有していた。また、部品
点数に応じ溶着を繰り返すこと自体、低い生産性の原因
と言わざるを得ない。

可能な共通の接合面を形成し得るように、プラスチック
部品が分割されることが不可欠である。
易な操作とするために、2個以上の部品からなる群にあ
っては群を形成する各部品が互いに嵌め込み可能な嵌合
構造を有し嵌合することにより1個の部品のごとくに取
り扱うことができ、あたかも「2個の部品を溶融溶着さ
せる」操作と同様になされることが好ましい。しかしな
がら、上記嵌合構造は本発明の必要条件ではない。
接合面そのものである場合加熱溶融溶着がやり易いが、
両群の接合面を含む互いに対向する面の一方が接合面よ
り大きくても両群間に設置された加熱装置により加熱さ
れ溶融し加熱装置移動後溶着し得るような受熱面を形成
していれば何等問題ではない。
て接合面を形成する各部品の接合面において受熱し部品
温度上昇がほぼ等しいことが好ましく、接合面における
部品形状を適宜決定して対応し得る。
し溶融可能なら発熱方式を選ばないが溶融温度が低い場
合でも、構造上振動溶着法が採用できない場合なども通
常のヒータ採用で済む特徴を有する。溶融温度の高い場
合、赤外線ヒータや遠赤外線ヒータが特に有効である。
また、常法に従い、接合面の形状に応じたヒータの大き
さ・形の選択は効率的な接合に欠かせないのはもちろん
のことである。
で、部品点数を増やすことなく、唯単に互いに対向する
接合すべき共通の接合面を有するように2群に分割し、
該接合面を加熱し溶融し溶着するただ一度の一連の操作
で全部品を接合し得ることとなる。
ロン系プラスチックPFA(テトラフロロエチレンとパ
ーフロロアルコキシエチレンの共重合体)よりなる部品
3個21,22,23を示した。更に、該図1は部品2
2が部品23に嵌合されており、かつ部品21の接合面
25と、部品22と部品23の接合面26,27は対向
して配置されていることを示している。図1の(B)は
対向して配置されている接合面間に遠赤外線ヒータ24
を設置し接合面25,26,27を加熱溶融することを
示している。ついで溶着に十分かつ適切な溶融状態に達
した後、ヒータを取り除き、接合面25と接合面26,
27を圧し溶着しているところを図1の(C)に示した
(想定接合面を符号28で示した)。かくして接合せし
められた部分的に二重管構造を有するパイプ状構造物が
製造された。
ではなく、プラスチックの種類、組合せ、部品形状、部
品点数、接合面の形状は種々考えられ同様に実施できる
ものである。

ント等で使用されるフィルタユニットに適用したもので
ある。
ィルタ4及びこのフィルタ4を支持してハウジング2内
に収容されるコア(内蔵部品)3とから成り、少なくと
もフィルタ4を除くハウジング2及びコア3が同じテフ
ロン系プラスチック例えばPFA(ペルフルオロアルコ
キシフッ素樹脂)やPTFE(ポリテトラフルオロエチ
レン)などで射出成形されている。
グ本体5とこのハウジング本体5の開口部5aを塞ぐ蓋
部材6とから成る。ハウジング本体5には開口部5aと
は反対側の端部からろ過流体を導入する流入口7が設け
られている。また、ハウジング本体5の周面には、必要
に応じて2箇所の排出口8,9が180°置きに設けら
れ、エア抜きとドレン抜きに利用される。流入口7及び
各排出口8,9にはねじ10が形成され、他の機器類あ
るいはパイプ等と接続可能に設けられている。更に、ハ
ウジング本体5の内周面にはコア3を保持する突起11
が複数例えば4条形成され、コア3の周りのフィルタ4
との間に一定の隙間を形成して保持するように設けられ
ている。ハウジング本体5の開口部5aには段部12が
形成され、この段部12にコア3のフランジ部分3aが
嵌め込まれ、コア3を開口部5aにおいて固定可能に設
けられている。そして、段部12にコア3のフランジ3
aを嵌め合せたとき、ハウジング本体5とコア3とは端
面が揃うようにフランジ3aの厚みと段部12の深さと
は設けられている。
を閉塞してコア3をハウジング内に密封するためのもの
で、フィルタ4を通過したろ過流体を排出させるための
排液口13を有する。排液口13はコア3の内側の空間
14に連通し、コア3の外側のハウジング内空間15と
はフィルタ4を介さずに直接には連通しないように設け
られている。コア3の内外の空間14,15はコア3の
周面に形成された半径方向の連通口16及びコア周面に
巻きつけられるフィルタ4を介して連通される。依っ
て、蓋部材6の端部6aはハウジング本体5の開口部側
端部5b及びこれに嵌合するコア3の端部3bと同時に
当接して密着するように平坦面に形成されている。尚、
コア3は一端が開口された円筒形を成し、その周面にフ
ィルタ4を線接触で支持する凹凸17を多数形成すると
共にろ過流体を半径方向に通過させる連通口16を設け
ている。フィルタ4としては特に限定されるものではな
く、分離目的に応じた穴径を有するフィルタの使用が好
ましい。
1は、図1に示すように、ハウジング本体5とコア3及
び蓋部材6が各々の端面5b,3b,6aが一平面で突
き合わされた状態で溶着されて一体化されている。この
溶着された接合面を符号19で示す。したがって、ハウ
ジング2の一端の流入口7から導入されたろ過流体はハ
ウジング内空間15に導入された後、フィルタ4及び連
通口16を通過してコア3内に流入し、ろ過された後ハ
ウジング2の他端の排液口13から排出される。また、
ハウジング2内のガスは必要に応じてガス抜き口8から
排出され、ドレンは底部のドレン排液口9から排出され
る。
は次のようにして製造される。
ジング本体5の開口部5aからハウジング本体5内に挿
入し開口部5aにおいてハウジング本体5の端面5bと
コア3の端面3bとが同一平面となるように調整し、ハ
ウジング本体5とコア3とを一つの部品にまとめてしま
う(図3及び図4参照)。
軸上で対向させて互いの端面5b,3b,6aを加熱し
溶融する。例えば、同軸上で任意に接近・離反可能な一
対のホルダ(図示省略)の一方にハウジング本体5を、
他方に蓋部材6をそれぞれの端面5b,3b,6aが対
向するように取付け、ホルダの相対移動によってハウジ
ング本体5と蓋部材6とを突き合せ得るようにする。そ
して、それらの中間にパネル状の遠赤外線ヒータ18を
配置してハウジング本体5とこれに嵌合されているコア
3の端面5b,3b並びに蓋部材6の端面6aを溶着可
能な状態例えば透明になるまで同時に加熱する。尚、加
熱手段としてはパネル状の遠赤外線ヒータ18に特に限
定されず、レーザー等の他の加熱手段を用いても良い。
ると、遠赤外線ヒータ18をハウジング本体5と蓋部材
6との間から取出してホルダを接近動作させ(図4参
照)、ハウジング本体5と蓋部材6とを同心上に配置し
た状態のまま突き合せて溶着する。これによって、ハウ
ジング本体5とコア3及び蓋部材6とが突き合せ面即ち
接合面19で一体に結合されフィルタユニット1を完成
する(図1参照)。溶着状態を確認し、フィルタユニッ
トをホルダから取出す。
タユニット1は、テフロン系プラスチックで構成されか
つハウジング本体5とコア3及び蓋部材6が溶着によっ
て一体化されるため、ろ過流体が完全にテフロン系プラ
スチックで密封されて漏洩することはないし汚染される
こともない。
一例ではあるがこれに限定されるものではなく本発明の
要旨を逸脱しない範囲において種々変形実施可能であ
る。例えば、本発明方法によって得られるフィルタユニ
ットは図1あるいは図2〜図5に示すようなものに特に
限定されず、図6に示すようにハウジングにガス抜きや
ドレン排液口を設けることなく、ろ過流体の導入口7及
び排液口13を設け、更に内ねじ形成するようにしても
良い。また、テフロン系プラスチック容器の一例として
フィルタユニットを例に挙げているがこれに特に限定さ
れるものではなく、ハウジングを分割してその中に内蔵
部品を収容せざるを得ない容器全てに適用できる。
スチック部品を接合する方法において、各部品の構造を
複雑にすることなく、また部品点数を増やすこともな
く、かつ互いに対向する接合面を加熱溶融溶着する唯一
度の一連の操作で一挙に接合できる効果をもたらす。
熱前の部品を2群に分割嵌合した状態を、(B)は部品
を加熱し溶融する状態から溶着前のヒータ除去直前まで
の状態を、(C)は溶着し接合された状態をそれぞれ示
す。

aを嵌め合せたとき、ハウジング本体5とコア3とは端
面が揃うようにフランジ3aの厚みと段部12の深さと
は設けられている。

Claims (2)
- 【請求項1】 3個以上のプラスチック部品を接合する
方法において、互いに対向する位置にある2つの部品群
に接触可能な共通の接合面を形成し、両接合面を加熱
し、一挙に互いの群を接触させて溶着することを特徴と
するプラスチック部品の接合方法。 - 【請求項2】 プラスチックがテフロン系プラスチック
で赤外線ヒータで加熱することを特徴とする請求項1記
載のプラスチック部品の接合方法。
