Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform good masking in an extremely easy manner at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:Ultraviolet curable ink 4 characterized by that the adhesion with the surface to be coated composed of the outer peripheral surface of a container 1 is weaker than the adhesion with coating material 5 and cured by the irradiation with ultraviolet rays is applied to the place to be masked of the surface to be coated. The ultraviolet curable ink 4 is cured by the irradiation with ultraviolet rays. The coating material 5 is applied to the surface to be coated containing the ultraviolet curable ink 4. After the material 5 is heated to be baked and dried, a self-adhesive tape 6 is bonded to the place coated with the ultraviolet curable ink 4. By peeling off the self-adhesive tape 6, the ultraviolet curable ink 4 is peeled from the surface to be coated.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, glass, pottery, metal, and the like may be subjected to a masking to form a non-painted portion (so-called parting portion). The masking method of this kind includes the following. (A) A tape is attached to a portion to be masked on the surface to be coated, then the surface to be coated including this tape is coated, and after the coating is dried, the tape is peeled off from the surface to be coated. (B) A water-soluble ink is applied to the surface to be coated and dried,
The surface to be coated containing the water-soluble ink is coated, and after the coating is dried, it is washed with water to remove the water-soluble ink. (C) A masking jig formed by electroforming or the like to follow the masking portion of the surface to be coated is brought into contact with the surface to be coated, the surface to be coated is coated in this state, and the coating is dried. After that, the masking jig is removed.

However, each of the above-mentioned prior arts has the following drawbacks. In the method of (A), the paint gets into the slight gap between the surface to be coated and the tape attached, and after coating,
The masking tape may not be peeled off well, or the adhesive of the tape may remain on the coated surface. Therefore, there has been a problem that it takes a lot of time and labor to repair the tape after peeling it off. In the method (B), since water is used when the water-soluble ink is washed out, this water has a problem that water stains and the like remain on the coated surface. In the method (C), as in the method (A) above,
The paint sometimes entered between the masking jig and the surface to be painted, which necessitated reworking after painting. Moreover, since this masking jig is extremely expensive, the cost for masking increases. Further, there is a problem that it takes a considerable time to manufacture the masking jig.

According to the masking method of the present invention, by irradiating the ultraviolet-curable ink previously applied to the surface to be coated with ultraviolet rays, the ultraviolet-curable ink is cured, and the ultraviolet-curable ink containing the ultraviolet-curable ink is further cured. By coating the paint on the painted surface and applying heat to the paint, the paint is baked onto the painted surface and the ultraviolet curable ink. Then, an adhesive tape is attached to the portion where the ultraviolet curable ink is applied, and the adhesive tape is peeled off, and the ultraviolet curable ink is adhered with a weaker adhesiveness than the paint, The coating film on the coated surface is partially peeled off.

The UV-curable ink 4 contains, for example, a photopolymerizable prepolymer, a photopolymerizable monomer, a photoinitiator as a basic component, and the photopolymerizable prepolymer is
The photopolymerizable monomer is a polymer that can be polymerized by photochemical action, and the photopolymerizable monomer functions as a diluent for the photopolymerizable prepolymer and can be itself polymerized by irradiation with ultraviolet light. , Which absorbs ultraviolet rays to initiate the polymerization reaction. Further, the method for applying the ultraviolet curable ink 4 is screen printing or the like.

As described above, according to the masking method of the above-described embodiment, the ultraviolet ray having a weaker adhesion to the surface 3 to be coated which is the outer peripheral surface of the container 1 such as glass, pottery and metal is weaker than the adhesion to the coating material 5. Mask with curable ink 4,
A paint 5 is applied to the surface 3 to be coated including the masking, and the paint 5 is heated and baked to dry, and then an adhesive tape 6 is attached to the coated surface containing the ultraviolet curable ink 4 to obtain the adhesive tape. By peeling 6 off, the ultraviolet curable ink 4 can be very easily peeled off from the surface 3 to be coated to form a good parting portion 2.

Further, unlike the conventional case, the parting portion 2 can be formed without the need for reworking, and the labor and time required for masking can be greatly reduced. Moreover, it is possible to form a good parting portion 2 without staining the coated surface. In addition, the cost required for masking can be significantly reduced as compared with the conventional method using a masking jig.

As described above, according to the masking method of the present invention, the following effects can be obtained. Mask the surface of the container such as glass, pottery, metal, etc. with UV-curable ink that has weaker adhesion to the surface to be coated than the coating, and apply the coating to the surface to be coated including this masking. After applying heat to this paint to dry it, attach an adhesive tape to the coating surface containing the UV-curable ink, and peel off the adhesive tape to make it extremely easy to apply the UV-curable ink to the surface to be coated. A good parting part can be formed by peeling from. Further, unlike the conventional case, the parting portion can be formed without requiring any reworking, and the labor and time required for masking can be significantly reduced. Moreover, it is possible to form a good parting portion without staining the painted surface. In addition, the cost required for masking can be significantly reduced as compared with the conventional method using a masking jig.
