Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a reed material having excellent abrasion resistance by using a martensitic stainless steel containing C, Si, Mn, Cr and Mo or V at respective specific wt.%. CONSTITUTION:A martensitic stainless steel containing 0.6-0.95wt.% C, <=1.0wt.% Si, <=1.0wt.% Mn, 12-18wt.% Cr and the balance Fe and inevitable impurities or a steel produced by adding 0.2-3.0wt.% Mo and/or 0.05-0.3wt.% V to the above martensitic steel is used as a raw material, subjected to repeated drawing and annealing and pressed by rolling.
