Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明は自動車用座席のトリムカバー、クツシ
ヨン部材などに使用される柔軟弾性発泡体の超音
波溶着方法、詳しくはその発泡体の表面に熱可塑
性表皮を溶着面積の大きな工具ホーンを使用して
一体に超音波溶着する方法に関するものである。
(従来の技術とその問題点) 従来、柔軟弾性を有する発泡体(例えばウレタ
ンフオームなど)は工具ホーンの振動を吸収して
しまうため、超音波での溶着が不可能とされてい
た。
しかし、本願出願人はスラブ材、モールド加工
による発泡体に表皮などを超音波によつて溶着し
た自動車用座席のトリムカバーや座席自体を開発
した(例えば特開昭59−230590号、特開昭59−
230718号など参照)。
ところが、これらの発泡体の超音波溶着は溶着
面積が小さいものにおいて、確実に溶着される
が、例えば溶着面積が1000mm2程度の工具ホーンを
使用したものにおいては溶着にバラツキ(溶着不
良)が生じる不具合が判明した。
これは、発泡体を所定又は最高の加圧力で加圧
した状態で超音波を発振し、その発振を繰返すこ
とによつて溶着している。そのため、溶着面全体
における加圧条件が均一にならないので加圧中に
発振がバラツクためである。また、発泡体の加圧
に伴なう発泡体の反発弾性が高いため、工具ホー
ンが的確に振動しない。
しかも、溶着条件が加圧力によつて左右される
ため、確実に溶着するためには、その条件制定が
極めて困難であつた。
(目的) そこで、本発明は溶着面積が大きな工具ホーン
を使用して柔軟弾性発泡体に、熱可塑性表皮を確
実に超音波溶着することを目的とするものであ
る。
(構成) そのため、本発明は、所定又は最高加圧力で加
圧した後、その加圧力を降下させた状態で発振
し、然る後加圧力を増大して溶着するものであ
る。従つて、発振中の加圧力は溶着面全体に略均
一になり、発振にバラツキが生じない。そして、
加圧力が一定であるため、溶着時間のみで超音波
の加工条件が制定できる。
(実施例) 以下、本発明の一実施例を具体的に説明する。
まず、本発明によつて溶着する柔軟弾性を有す
る発泡体は自動車用座席のウレタンフオーム製の
クツシヨン材(モールド加工品)、或いはトリム
カバーに使用されるスラブ材で、そのJIS硬度は
5Kg乃至20Kg程度のもので、スラブ材にあつては
その厚さが5mm乃至20mm程度、モールド加工品は
50mm乃至60mm程度である。
また、熱可塑性表皮はポリエステル系の織物地
(ダブルラツセル)など熱可塑性樹脂材である。
工具ホーンはその溶着面の長さが100mm以上で、
幅が2mm程度のものを二本略7mm程度の間隔をあ
けて平行に設けたものである。
以上の溶着面積の大きい工具ホーンを使用して
前記発泡体の表面に表皮を超音波溶着する。
この超音波溶着は、まず、受台に載置した発泡
体と、この発泡体上に積層した表皮とを所定又は
最高の加圧力で工具ホーンで加圧する。次に、シ
リンダーを操作して工具ホーンを上昇させて加圧
力を低減させる。この加圧力の低減は工具ホーン
が表皮上に軽く当たつている程度から前記所定又
は最高の加圧力に対してやや低い加圧力をいう。
加圧力を低減した後、ジエネレーターの通電を行
ない超音波を発振する。然る後、工具ホーンを下
降させて所定又は最大加圧力で加圧すると溶着さ
れる。
以下、これを繰返して溶着する。
次に、具体的にトリムカバーを超音波で溶着す
る方法を説明する。
発泡体としてウレタンフオーム(厚さ10mm、比
重0.25、JIS硬度10Kg)を使用し、このウレタン
フオームにポリエステル系の表皮(ダブルラツセ
ルの織物地)を工具ホーン(幅80mm、長さ300mm)
を使用して以下の如くすることにより超音波溶着
が完全に行なわれる。
ジエネレーターの周波数20KHz、振幅76μ、冷
却時間1.5乃至2.0秒において、溶着面における工
具ホーンの長さ300mmを使用した場合、加圧力420
Kg、溶着面積1200mm2、発振時間1.3乃至1.8秒、ジ
エネレーター出力負荷率70%乃至80%であり、同
工具ホーンを使用して加圧力を345Kgとその発振
時間は1.8乃至2.2秒である。即ち、加圧力を高く
すると、発振時間が短縮され、溶着状態が向上す
る。
以上の通電及び冷却はタイマーで行なう。
(効果) 本発明によると、超音波の発振は工具ホーンに
よつて所定又は加圧した後、その加圧力を低減し
た状態で行なうため、工具ホーンの振動が的確で
溶着が良好になる。そのため、発振不良に伴なう
表皮の発泡体に対する溶着のバラツキ、不良がな
くなる。
また、大巾な溶着面積の異なる以外の表皮の発
泡体に対する超音波溶着は加圧力を常に一定にで
きるので、溶着時間のみを変更することで、その
超音波加工条件を制定でき、その加工性を向上で
きる。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 柔軟弾性発泡体製クツシヨン部材上に熱可塑
    性表皮を積層し、これらを所定又は最高加圧力で
    加圧後、該加圧力を降下させて超音波を発振し、
    次に所定又は最高加圧力で加圧して前記クツシヨ
    ン部材に表皮を溶着させることを特徴とする柔軟
    弾性発泡体の超音波溶着方法。 2 前記超音波を発振させる工具ホーンの溶着面
    積が300mm2以上である前記特許請求の範囲第1項
    記載の発泡体の超音波溶着方法。 3 前記クツシヨン部材は、そのJIS硬度が5Kg
    乃至20Kgである前記特許請求の範囲第1項記載の
    柔軟性発泡体の超音波溶着方法。
