Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the subject inexpensive base paper bearing performance comparable to or higher than those of conventional such papers, without the need for using, as feedstock, inorganic fibers such as expensive ultrafine synthetic fibers or glass fibers which have been traditionally used in order to enhance dust collection rate while maintaining suction power. CONSTITUTION:The objective base paper can be obtained by putting a feedstock incorporated with 5-45wt.% of waste paper pulp to wet papermaking process. This base paper has the following characteristics: (1) air permeability: 0.1-0.4 sec; (2) burst strength: 1.5-3.0kg/cm<2>; and (3) having defibrability. Owing to the characteristic 3, broke, etc., produced during base paper production and/or processing can be recycled through its disaggregation and recovery. Besides, because of the absence of inorganic fibers in the feedstock, indoor air pollution never occurs due to such inorganic fibers falling off the filter during use of a vacuum cleaner and discharging together with exhaust gas.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, in household vacuum cleaners and commercial vacuum cleaners, a paper pack filter has been installed in a vacuum cleaner so that it can be treated cleanly after collecting dust. When the paper pack filter collects dust and becomes full, the paper pack filter is removed from the vacuum cleaner together with the dust, and is discarded and incinerated or discarded. The paper pack filter, that is, the base paper used for the vacuum cleaner filter must have a certain air permeability so as not to reduce the suction force of dust, while improving the dust collection rate so that fine dust is not allowed to pass through. Therefore, it is also necessary to reduce the porosity of the paper layer, that is, the pore diameter.

The waste paper used in the present invention includes newspaper waste paper, fine paper waste paper, cardboard waste paper, DIP (deinked pulp).
Alternatively, a mixture of these may be mentioned. The content ratio of waste paper in the raw material in the present invention is 5 to 45% by weight, preferably 10 to 30% by weight. If the blending ratio is less than 5% by weight, the advantage of blending waste paper is lost, and it is necessary to blend expensive ultrafine synthetic fibers. If the blending ratio exceeds 45% by weight, the paper strength will decrease.

As can be seen from Table 1, when the content of newspaper waste paper is increased, the air permeability becomes higher and the pore diameter becomes smaller, and the same effect as when the ultrafine synthetic fiber is added is exhibited. However, when newspaper waste paper is blended at 50%, the strength decreases. The disintegration property indicates that the base paper prepared by mixing waste paper can be completely disintegrated.

Since the base paper for a vacuum cleaner filter of the present invention has a disintegrating property, it is possible to easily disintegrate, collect, and reuse broke produced in the manufacturing or processing of the base paper, which is economically advantageous. Is extremely large and contributes to the reduction of product cost. Further, in the case of a base paper having no disaggregation property, it is inevitable to disintegrate and collect broke and the like and to cause it to be incinerated or drained into wastewater, resulting in environmental pollution. In the case of the base paper, it is possible to disintegrate and recover the damaged paper and the like, and thus it is possible to prevent such environmental pollution.

As can be seen from Table 1, when the amount of newspaper waste pulp is increased, the air permeability is increased and the pore diameter is decreased, which shows the same effect as when the ultrafine synthetic fiber is added. However, when newspaper waste paper pulp is blended at 50%, the strength decreases. The disintegration property indicates that the base paper prepared by blending waste paper pulp can be completely disintegrated.

As can be seen from the above description, in the present invention, an ultrafine synthetic fiber having a diameter of 10 μ or less, which has been used conventionally, is used in order to increase the dust collection rate while maintaining the air permeability. By using waste paper pulp and mixing it with the raw material in a predetermined amount, it is possible to inexpensively obtain a base paper for a vacuum cleaner filter having a performance equal to or higher than that of the conventional one.
